Shocker: Hillary Clinton Will Run for President

By Jim Kouri

Monday, January 22, 2007

Well, it's official: Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has announced she will run for president in 2008. The hyperventilating denizens of our nation's newsrooms are reporting this story as if there was any doubt Hillary wanted to rule over the American people.

Hillary's campaign workers posted a videotaped message on her web site which said, "I'm in and I'm in to win." As opposed to "I'm in and I'm in to lose?"

This was a great story for the news media to cover. Reporters probably had the story already written and stored in their PCs' just waiting for the right moment to gush over the announcement that the first former First Lady announced a run for the White House.

Sadly, the news media are treating this Hillary announcement as if it was a breaking story. The only people who doubted Hillary would run for president live on a deserted island in the Pacific. Even Fox News Channel is focusing an inordinate amount of attention to what's basically a non-story at best, a free campaign commercial at worst.

Sen. Clinton has long been considered the Democrat Party front-runner in the 2008 race for the presidency. Last week, Sen. Barack Obama announced he was throwing his hat into the presidential race as well.

Between the time of the Obama announcement and the Hillary announcement, the news media were treated to a story about Barack Hussein Obama's attendance at a "madrassa," or Islamic school, in Jakarta. It's a story they dutifully ignored or minimized as a hatchet job by the Vast Right Ring Conspiracy. Our protectors of the First Amendment are only concerned about Mitt Romney's affiliation with those dangerous Mormons. But the interesting part of the "madrassa" story is that it's believed to have come from the Clinton camp.

Hillary and Barack join white-male John Edwards who has already announced his run and is boring Americans to tears with his "Two Americas" speech. Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico is expected to announce his run as well adding a Latino candidate to the mix. Now if only Rep. Barney Franks and Rosie O'Donnell would announce, we'd also have gay and lesbian candidates.

The message on Hillary's web site states that after six years of George Bush, it was time to renew the promise of America. One can be grateful she didn't say, "It's time for a change" or "don't stop thinking about tomorrow," but she was probably cautioned not to bring attention to her years in the White House with Bill when she couldn't find the Rose Law Firm files that mysteriously appeared in her bedroom. (Bill probably had the box of files moved out of his bedroom because the interns kept tripping over it.)

She said she was "starting a conversation with America" and also invited voters to voice their opinions on health care, Social Security, Medicare and the Iraqi war. In 1999, when she was running for Senator of New York, Hillary was traveling around the state on her "listening tour." Now she's actually conversing. Perhaps we should pray she starts an "honesty tour."

Polls show Clinton would be the front-runner with Democrat voters. John Edwards and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson are also top contenders, according to polls. However, in a match-up with either GOP hopefuls Rudy Guiliani or John McCain, Hillary would be trounced in the general election.

Meanwhile, the Democrats, or as conservatives know them the socialists, are busy little bees working hard to con the American people into believing Hillary is a centrist. Her campaign even hired an "evangelical consultant" to show her how she can bamboozle Christians into forgetting her penchant for killing unborn babies and her blessings on same-sex marriage.

Clinton, who will be 61-years old on election day in 2008, has served as the junior senator from New York for seven years. She won a landslide victory in that state for the position in 2000, thanks to her husband's help such as pardoning Puerto Rican terrorists from the FALN, who've killed cops and civilians in Manhattan; and thanks to the help of the GOP, who picked a relative unknown and then ignored him during the race.

Not a day goes by without the Clinton media lapdancers feeding the public non-stories highlighting Hillary's pontificating. If only reporters would tell us exactly what concrete achievements Hillary has had in her seven years in office. What legislation did she sponsor and how far did it get to becoming law? What does her voting record look like? Why is she always wearing pantsuits?
