How Putin is out-maneuvering Obama in Syria

In what has become a monthly ritual, the United Nations Security Council received a briefing on March 30th regarding the very dire humanitarian conditions in war-torn Syria. Stephen O’Brien, the Under Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, delivered the latest assessment. He noted as positive developments a respite in violence in some parts of the country since the cessation of hostilities came into effect one month ago, and some limited progress on access for the delivery of humanitarian aid to besieged and hard-to-reach areas. However, he said that many of the 4.6 million people in need “still remain outside our reach due to insecurity and obstructions by the parties.”

Even in death Rob Ford remains Toronto’s ‘Mayor for Life’

Even death cannot deprive thousands of mournful citizens of the most beloved mayor in Toronto history, Mayor Rob Ford, guaranteed immortality in the Ford Nation movement.

Respected as a ‘Man of the People’ long before ever becoming mayor for his admirable penny-pinching ways as a city councillor, Rob Ford was what every politician should be but isn’t, a vanguard of the public purse.

Pittsburgh anchor fired for ‘racist’ Facebook post . . . but was it really?

A Pittsburgh news anchor named Wendy Bell, a veteran of 18 years at WTAE-TV, is now unemployed. Not because she did a bad job as a news anchor. As far as anyone can see, she didn’t. In fact, it had nothing to do with anything she did on the job.

You know where this is going, right? Bell held forth on her Facebook page about a recent local crime, and was quite unrestrained in expressing her frustration and anguish over what had happened - especially because she felt pretty confident it would follow a pattern she’d seen many times before. This would be a pattern that would relate to young men growing up with no fathers and having so many strikes against them before they even start their lives that something like this was almost inevitable. And oh yes, Bell acknowledged, this is particularly an affliction of the black community.

At least 21 killed, 150 believed trapped after overpass collapses in India

At least 15 people were killed and another 150 believed trapped when a portion of an overpass under construction collapsed in a congested area in the eastern Indian city of Kolkata on Thursday, police and officials said.

Army troops joined efforts to rescue those trapped inside cars, trucks and other vehicles that lay under massive concrete blocks and metal debris. Witnesses said that emergency personnel were attempting to use their bare hands to rescue those caught under the wreckage.

The collapse occurred in Bara Bazaar, a busy residential and shopping area in the city of approximately 4.5 million people.

Conservatives’ New Strategy to Curb the Executive Branch, Administrative Power

With much attention on how the Supreme Court could overturn major cases dealing with religion, campaign finance, and the Second Amendment if a liberal were to replace Justice Antonin Scalia, conservatives hoping for one of their own to assume the bench are quietly angling for the court to revisit a decision dealing with executive power.

In 1984, the Supreme Court set the so-called Chevron doctrine, which created the precedent that courts defer to executive branch agencies in deciding how to interpret ambiguous statutes that the executive branch administers.

Earlier this month, leading Republican lawmakers from both chambers of Congress introduced legislation that would seek to undermine the Chevron doctrine by clarifying the Administrative Procedures Act to say that courts, not agencies, are to interpret all questions of law, including both statutes and regulations. As a result of the Supreme Court’s 1984 ruling in Chevron U.S.A. Inc. v. Natural Resources Defense Council Inc, an agency such as the Department of Health and Human Services or the Environmental Protection Agency is able to implement policy how it wants to as long as the statute is “ambiguous” and the agency’s reading is “reasonable.”

Western Europe’s “Headache”

The invasion of Europe by young military-age Muslim men from the Middle East and Africa has pushed one Western European “headache” to the back burner – the Romanian gypsies, with their nomadic lifestyle and “criminality,” petty theft, pickpocketing, and begging around train stations and major tourist attractions; these gypsies have irritated the European Union bureaucrats and the selectively multicultural Europeans.

In an effort to combat any ethnic discrimination, the Romanian government passed H.G. 1194 on December 12, 2001 which established the “attributes, components, organization, and functioning of the National Council to Combat Discrimination. The law established heavy penalties for anyone who attacks someone else on the basis of ethnicity. The main focus of the law was to prevent the proliferation of anti-Semitism and anti-gypsy sentiments. Insulting, humiliating, or disadvantaging any ethnic group is strictly forbidden.”

Liberty Counsel Offers to Defend North Carolina Law

ORLANDO, FL—Liberty Counsel sent a letter yesterday to the North Carolina House and Senate offering pro bono services in defense of the Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act. The Act recently was signed into law by Governor Pat McCrory. However, Attorney General Cooper has refused to defend it.

The Act was enacted after the city of Charlotte opened women’s public bathrooms to men and now declares that state law overrides all local ordinances concerning wages, employment, and public accommodations. Thus, like the majority of states, the law requires statewide uniformity of nondiscrimination laws.

“Liberty Counsel was encouraged to see the resolve and fortitude of the North Carolina General Assembly and Governor McCrory in enacting this Act. However, the Attorney General’s unjustified refusal is a disturbing commentary on modern legal ethics. He is clearly putting his political ambitions above the law,” said Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel.

The Least Transparent Administration in History

For all of President Obama’s assurances that his administration would be the most transparent in history, it has been anything but. Yet the mainstream media fail to cover, again and again, evidence of a corrupt administration hiding regulations from Congress and controlling the press.

President Obama continues to lecture the press on how to do its job properly, criticizing the depth of reporting on the election. “I think the electorate would be better served if we spent less time focused on the he said/she said back-and-forth of our politics,” said President Obama on March 28 at the 2016 Toner Prize ceremony. “If I say that the world is round and someone else says it’s flat, that’s worth reporting, but you might also want to report on a bunch of scientific evidence that seems to support the notion that the world is round,” he continued. “And that shouldn’t be buried in paragraph five or six of the article.”

Surrendering to ISIS is the Only Way to Defeat It

If you’re keeping score, freeing Islamic terrorists from Gitmo does not play into the hands of ISIS. Neither does bringing Syrians, many of whom sympathize with Islamic terrorists, into our country. And aiding the Muslim Brotherhood parent organization of ISIS does not play into the Islamic group’s hands.

However if you use the words “Islamic terrorism” or even milder derivatives such as “radical Islamic terrorism”, you are playing into the hands of ISIS. If you call for closer law enforcement scrutiny of Muslim areas before they turn into Molenbeek style no-go zones or suggest ending the stream of new immigrant recruits to ISIS in San Bernardino, Paris or Brussels, you are also playing into the hands of ISIS.

Khamenei: Missiles are the key to Iran’s future

Who would be enough of a fool to think that anyone with real power in Iran thought otherwise? Oh. Right.

As always, beware of media characterizations that pretend this or that Iranian official is “moderate” or “more moderate” or whatever. They’re grading on a pretty radical curve when they tell you that, but it’s irrelevant at any rate. Only the mullahas have real power in Iran, and lest you have any doubt how the mullah’s see Iran’s postition, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would like to be sure he leaves no ambiguity:

Obama’s ‘All of the Above’ Energy Strategy Is All Talk

President Obama has made a couple of about-faces when it comes to offshore drilling in the Atlantic.

After coming under pressure from environmental activists, the Obama administration has denied access to energy resources and job creation by prohibiting offshore drilling in the Atlantic.

In 2010, the Obama administration lifted the ban on drilling on the East Coast only to reverse the decision after the Gulf oil spill. Then, in 2015, the administration released draft offshore drilling plans that would have opened up offshore drilling from Delaware down to Georgia.

Liberal-Socialism And The Erosion Of Christian Canada

In the world of politics, as with many situations in life, making promises often leads to unexpected results. Nowhere is this more apparent than when considering the post-election behaviour of Canada’s ruling Liberal government.

The examples are many— a pronouncement of a 10 billion dollar federal deficit, which turned out to be triple that amount.  An increase in the Syrian refugee quota from the original 25,000 to 55,000—a quantity the majority of Canadians oppose— are two of the most prominent.

A Most Violent Year

It is becoming more than obvious that since carding has been stopped in Toronto crime has been increasing. As just reported in the Toronto Sun on March 2nd, there have been 24 homicides in Toronto alone between Dec 1, 2015 and Feb 29, 2016, with majority being person shot with firearms. This is an incredible spike of 150% over same time last year.

Let’s walk through the difference on the streets today since the police in Toronto were forced to abandon the tool of Police Carding.  Today a bad guy will carry a firearm more often than not, just by the fact he or she knows a police officer will not stop and interview them as in the past when there was carding. I have spoken to several officers who admit there is no way they are going to take a chance and stop someone and then get called up on the carpet by police management, media or special interest groups.

Donald Trump Said He Was Never Asked About Abortion as a Businessman

During the CNN Town Hall forum last night, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he was never asked as a businessman about abortion, but it turns out that’s not the case. Trump was asked multiple times about abortion prior to his becoming a presidential candidate.

During the town hall, Trump described his conversion to the pro-life position on abortion and said he hadn’t given much thought to abortion before that.

TRUMP:  Well, I mean, you could say, I am – as you know, I’m pro-life, and I was originally pro-choice.  I will say this, that as a developer and as a businessman I’m not sure I was ever even asked the question, are you pro-life, pro-choice?

Beltway media finally finds something to be mad at Obama about

If you’re tempted to celebrate because mainstream journalists are finally going off on Obama today - and oh yes, they are - your happiness is misplaced. Nothing has really changed. The media will continue to lick Obama’s boots with respect to the horrendous policies he has inflicted and continues to inflict on the nation. They will continue to run interference for him on ObamaCare, on executive amnesty, on spending blowouts, on the weakness of his dealings with our enemies, on his hostility toward business, on his anitipathy toward Christians . . . Obama will continue to get the same pass he’s always gotten on these things.

In other words, if Obama’s nonsense is a problem for you, they don’t care.

Illinois Lawmakers Seek to Make Falsified Birth Certificates Easier to Obtain

State Representative Greg Harris (D-Chicago) and his leftist accomplices, endlessly involved in trying to subvert truth and reality, have introduced the Birth Certificate Sex Designation bill (HB 6073) to make it easier for men and women who wish they were the opposite sex to obtain falsified birth certificates. Harris’ first chief co-sponsor was Kelly Cassidy (D-Chicago), both of whom are at the forefront of every legislative effort that serves the homosexual community of which they are part.

The absurdity and unscientific nature of the content of HB 6073 reveals the absurdity of the law it seeks to amend. This bill proposes to change a reference in the law from “sex change” to “change of sex designation.”

First, this change implicitly acknowledges the true fact that no one’s sex can change. Second, it demonstrates that birth certificates are being rendered meaningless. Birth certificates were intended as legal documents identifying objective birth facts.
