How exercise could help fight drug addiction

How exercise could help fight drug addiction The siren call of addictive drugs can be hard to resist, and returning to the environment where drugs were previously taken can make resistance that much harder. However, addicts who exercise appear to be less vulnerable to the impact of these environmental cues. Now, research with mice suggests that exercise might strengthen a drug user's resolve by altering the production of peptides in the brain, according to a study in the journal ACS Omega.

A bionic mushroom that generates electricity

A bionic mushroom that generates electricity In the quest to replace fossil fuels, scientists are always on the lookout for alternative, environmentally friendly sources of energy. But who could have imagined a bionic mushroom that produces electricity? It sounds like something straight out of Alice in Wonderland, but researchers have now generated mushrooms patterned with energy-producing bacteria and an electrode network. They report their results in the ACS journal Nano Letters.

Democrat Leaders’ Willingness to Lie, Cheat and Steal

Democrat Leaders' Willingness to Lie, Cheat and Steal While many politicians lie during political campaigns, it is likely that politicians have lied to voters from the beginning when people were free to choose their own leaders. To lie is nothing new under the sun. Humanity developed upon the Earth by humans acting prematurely based upon a lie. However from the beginning of the millennium, politicians seem to exhibit a greater tendency to freely lie more frequently to the people. Possibly it is perception, but it also seems that candidates and leaders of the “Democratic” Party may be guilty of using lies more often than those from the GOP.

SAF, CCRKBA SEEK NATIONAL DIALOGUE ON POLICE, CCW AFTER ALABAMA TRAGEDY

Mr. Bradford, 21, pulled out his gun to protect shoppers at an Alabama mall, his family said.BELLEVUE, WA – In the wake of last week’s tragic mistaken identity fatal shooting of an armed citizen in an Alabama shopping mall, the Second Amendment Foundation and Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms are calling for a national dialogue on how police respond to “active shooter” reports in public venues, such as malls, restaurants or movie theaters. Officers responding to a shooting at the Riverchase Balleria Mall in suburban Hoover apparently mistook Emantic F. Bradford, Jr., 21, as the suspected shooter. Mr. Bradford had a carry permit according to his family but investigators have declined to confirm that. He had drawn his pistol and was fatally shot. “There are more than 17 million gun owners in the United States who are licensed to carry concealed,” noted SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb. “In addition, there are untold numbers of legally-armed citizens in states where permits or licenses are not required for either concealed or open carry. In an active shooter incident, these citizens are well within their rights to act in self-defense or in defense of others, even when it means they draw a defensive sidearm but don’t immediately open fire.

Shattering the Obama Myth: A Wolf in Presidential Clothing

Shattering the Obama Myth: A Wolf in Presidential Clothing The Fabian Society, a British think tank founded in London in 1884, is named after the Roman general Quintus Fabius Maximus whose battle strategy was one of harassment and attrition rather than violent military battles against the Carthaginian army under general Hannibal.

It’s all about the debt

It’s all about the debt I have chronicled in past writings how much heat we took for predicting 4% GDP growth if we would be able to get some form of tax reform in place. Larry Kudlow and Steve Moore took the campaign’s fiscal policy outline and refined it and got it passed through the congress.
