I have a general rule of thumb concerning “death threats.” It’s not complicated. It goes like this:
When a person claims publicly to have been receiving death threats, the person making the claim is almost always lying. And when the claim of death threats follows obnoxious behavior by the person who now claims to be receiving death threats, the claim is a lie 100 percent of the time.
April Ryan is a liar. She also loves drama and puts on one hell of a show. April Ryan is an obnoxious individual who somehow managed to find a media outlet (if you can really give that label to “American Urban Radio Networks”) that would credential her as its White House correspondent. Since having that job, especially since Donald Trump became president, Ryan has used the position to make a spectacle of herself on multiple occasions while continually tossing irresponsible and absurd insinuations at the president.
And she doesn’t stop with Trump, either. Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has also become a target, even to the point that when Sanders posted a photo of a pie she baked, Ryan accused her of grabbing a stock photo of a pie and claiming it as her own. This is the sort of nonsense April Ryan deals in.
She is a joke. She is a clown. And this didn’t start with Huckabee Sanders. Sean # reached his limit with her quickly:
The rest of the media should be embarrassed to be in the same profession as April Ryan. She is a disgrace to the industry. Instead, they celebrate her obnoxiousness and the victimhood she eagerly seeks for herself.
And now she’s taking it to an entirely new level, gallivanting around with a “bodyguard” and claiming this is necessary because she’s receiving “death threats,” and oh by the way, Sarah Huckabee Sanders should pay the bodyguard because it’s all her fault:
Now, in a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Ryan indicated just how badly their relationship has spiraled. Amid what Ryan described as escalating attacks on the press from the Trump administration, Ryan placed the blame for threats she’s received, in part, on Sanders.
And Sanders should have to pay for it, Ryan said, by footing the bill for her bodyguard.
“I mean, I’ve had death threats,” said Ryan, a correspondent for American Urban Radio Networks who was named the journalist of the year by the National Association for Black Journalists in 2017. “I’ve had craziness, so I have a real concern . . . Do I have a bodyguard? Yes, I do. Am I paying for it? Yes, I am. And I think [Sanders] should have to pay for it, especially if she’s stirring it up with her boss . . . I did not sign up for this. I was just doing a job.”

Except that yes, you did sign up for it, April. You signed up for making a spectacle of yourself and playing the victim to the horrible racist Donald Trump. You signed up for masquerading as a “truth teller” and a “tough questioner” when in fact all you do is drop insane insinuations and then sit there and watch as all hell breaks loose.
Ryan must be frustrated working for “American Urban Radio Networks” and want a job that comes more naturally to her, like sitting on a set on CNN or MSNBC and railing against Donald Trump like Don Lemon and Joe Scarborough do. It would be a lot easier and she would make more money and be a bigger star, but first she has to do more to attract attention to herself.
A bodyguard should do it, along with completely manufactured claims of “death threats” and a demand that Sarah Sanders pay the bill.
April Ryan has received no death threats. April Ryan is a liar. April Ryan is a clown. April Ryan is a fraud. But she sure looks like an important victim toting that bodyguard around.
