Education failure hands leftist media victory (or does it?)

Education failure hands leftist media victory (or does it?)Who is it that accepts as fact whatever floats across the newsfeed on their social media? This question must be answered in order to see the complete picture of how this nation's liberty is slipping through our fingers, fingers that don't seem to grasp the enormity of the loss because of the blood on our hands. Howling denial of guilt will come from all sides, left (that doesn't care how it gains power) and right (that took its eyes off the prize). Honestly? The guilt is shared as one side rewrote this nation's history and the other complacently let it become entrenched in education. We're reaping the results of decades of allowing lies to be taught as truth to the point where the youth don't and, frankly, can't think for themselves. The ability has been educated out of them, and disdain for those who apply common sense has been educated into them.

Over the last couple weeks, fabricated "news" has stolen the headlines and been repetitiously beaten into gullible minds as fact. Years of misrepresenting facts has created a mass of undisciplined individuals that react with the mob mentality of the proletariat, which they've been harangued to believe is their lot in life. Except, these upcoming generations don't know the definition of proletariat. They haven't a clue that they are now the mob they were supposedly taught to despise, nor do they know that democracy is the steppingstone to communism which they've been commanded to idolize. For some reason, Buzzfeed's role in promulgating the false narrative that's held the nation in its grip for the whole of the Trump presidency hasn't bulldozed the website. It deserves to be, especially after the Russia dossier that started this whole mess was discredited as well as the media outlet's (can't call it news) last venture into creative writing about Trump forcing Michael Cohen to lie. Additionally, the disgraceful distortion of events that occurred at this year's March For Life that targeted teenage students as evil racists for donning red hats is ongoing. The perpetrators refuse to retract their propaganda and have gone so far as to disrupt religious services at Washington's Catholic basilica, continuing to be false witnesses against the youngsters on the very steps of the church.

Liberals would call it a complete success when their upcoming "stars" like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Kamala Harris are lauded for their pure illiteracy regarding the United States' establishment and vision

Underlying the incessant media blitz of absurd tales is the naïveté of the younger populace to unequivocally accept them as true. No verification, no research and no criticism. They just swallow the stories whole hog because that's what they've been trained to do, which prompts the discussion of how education has failed the younger generation. At least, that's how conservatives view the situation. Liberals would call it a complete success when their upcoming "stars" like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Kamala Harris are lauded for their pure illiteracy regarding the United States' establishment and vision. Face it, hate for the Founders and the freedom crafted into the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution is what they've been taught from elementary school to university, or by theocratic Marxist indoctrination. No longer do students learn to use the gray cells between their ears. They are taught to ignore natural curiosity, learning by rote doctrine that denies chronicled history. Educators have gone so far as to remove cursive handwriting from the curriculum, labeling it archaic. In 2010 this column was penned about the subject and how it leaves others to "translate" longhand for the college-bound students who can no longer read the original text of our founding documents, let alone letters from mom. During a recent conversation, a mother bemoaned her ninth-grade daughter's obstinate (indoctrinated) belief that knowing cursive is pointless, yet she had to be coached how to write her signature.

Along the same lines, it was just last year, listening to a national tech-oriented radio program that I heard one of the producers state that he could see no purpose for his three-year-old to ever learn to read since all the next generation will have to do is ask Siri for answers. Whether he was serious is another question but we can be sure there are young parents who believe this to be the wave of the future. The danger is in overlooking what would happen should power go out and there's no one able to read the books (or instruction manuals) that teach them to survive. At that point we will have returned to the dark ages where literacy was for the nobility (including upper echelon clerics) and withheld from the people. As millennials get a foothold in the political arena believing the folderol about the world coming to a climatic (as opposed to climactic) end in 12 years, there should be real concern about our future, mainly when this new generation tends to think there isn't one. Their brilliant plan is to redistribute wealth to save the planet. No, I didn't get the connection either. Today's education institutionalizes pessimism and despair. It's created a population of uninspired followers who will agree to anything as long as it promises to keep them alive even if it's only on life support. But the socialism that's billed as the perfect social equalizer is an empty promise. It's the great equalizer, all right, by devaluing individuals to the point of physical and financial starvation that will put them six-feet under. That is, if there's anyone still breathing with enough energy to dig the grave.
