McCarthyism: Constitutional deconstructionists who have legislative oversight committees serve as public Star Chambers, where laws and legal processes would be substituted with the political whims of the committees and Chairs

The Inquisition of President Trump continues

The Inquisition of President Trump continuesAnother work week begins. I wonder what the D.C. Collusioners...scratch that, never mind two-and-a-half years of perpetuating that hoax...the D.C. Obstructioners’ junta will be demanding of their subjects in the White House this week. “Ze papers, ve must have ze papers! Submit them now, Herr Trrrump!” If our nation operated the way Democrat U.S. Representatives Nadler, Schiff, Neal, Waters, Cummings and others wanted it to we would have to change the name of the country to The BRONA (Banana Republic of North America).
The above mentioned Constitutional deconstructionists who have legislative oversight committees serve as public Star Chambers, where laws and legal processes would be substituted with the political whims of the committees and their chairmen and chairwoman. Come to think of it, we already have a term for such a system. It’s called McCarthyism. Before the 1950s it would have had another name: vigilantism, also known as mob rule. Donald Trump’s son, Eric told NBC News;
“This subpoena is an unprecedented abuse of power and simply the latest attempt by House Democrats to attack the President and our family for political gain….Instead of legislating, the committee is obsessed with harassing and undermining my father’s administration, doing everything they can to distract from his incredible accomplishments. This incompetence is the exact reason why the American people have such disdain for politicians and why my father was elected President. Today’s actions by the committee set a horrible precedent for all taxpayers.”
With no reason at all to suspect the I.R.S. is not doing their job of flagging and inspecting fraudulent tax returns, the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Richard Neal, has singled out the President’s tax returns for his committee to inspect:
“In addition to Mr. Trump’s personal returns for 2013 to 2018, Mr. Neal requested returns for Mr. Trump’s trust and seven other core Trump business entities that control scores of other Trump operations, including his golf club in Bedminster, N.J. He also asked the I.R.S. to share any information it had related to the entities, including whether they had been audited.”

In the Judiciary Committee, the chairman, Representative Jerrold Nadler of New York, chairman of the Judiciary Committee, acting like some kind of National Inquisitor, has been harassing Attorney General William Barr for an unredacted version of the Mueller report. “The committee also approved subpoenas for five former White House aides who Democrats said were relevant to an investigation into possible obstruction of justice, abuse of power and corruption within the Trump administration. “They included Donald F. McGahn II, a former White House counsel; Stephen K. Bannon, the president’s former chief strategist; Hope Hicks, a former White House communications director; Reince Priebus, the president’s first chief of staff; and Annie Donaldson, a deputy of Mr. McGahn.” William Consovoy, a lawyer representing the president, sent a letter to Treasury last week arguing that Neal’s request “is nothing more than an attempt to exercise constitutional authority that Congress does not possess.” Representative Elijah Commings,chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, is now facing a lawsuit filed today over his demand for Trump records held by Mazars USA LLC. “Trump's suit also asks for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction prohibiting Mazars from producing the requested information. In the suit, Trump’s legal team complain that the Democrats have ‘issued more than 100 subpoenas and requests to anyone with even the most tangential connection to the President.’ “Democrats are using their new control of congressional committees to investigate every aspect of President Trump’s personal finances, businesses, and even his family,” the suit says. In a statement issued to block the subpoena, Trump lawyers William Consovoy and Stefan Passantino said, “The Committee’s attempt to obtain years’ worth of confidential information from their accountants lacks any legitimate legislative purpose, is an abuse of power, and is just another example of overreach by the President’s political opponents. We look forward to vindicating our clients’ rights in this matter.”
