Was Obama laying the groundwork for destabilising Trump's Presidency?

Biden's role in Obama's last month in the White House needs airing

Was Obama laying the groundwork for destabilising Trump's Presidency?The Democratic Debates provide a perfect opportunity for Kamala Harris to ask Joe Biden a few questions about any role he might have played in three baffling decisions made by President Obama in the last month of his tenure in the White House.
1. Reaffirms that the establishment by Israel of settlements in the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, has no legal validity and constitutes a flagrant violation under international law and a major obstacle to the achievement of the two-State solution and a just, lasting and comprehensive peace; 2. Reiterates its demand that Israel immediately and completely cease all settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, and that it fully respect all of its legal obligations in this regard; 3. Underlines that it will not recognize any changes to the 4 June 1967 lines, including with regard to Jerusalem, other than those agreed by the parties through negotiations;
Obama's decision overturned decades of American policy to veto similar Security Council resolutions. Should Obama have sought to change long-established US foreign policy in the dying days of his presidency?

  • The decision in January 2017 to seek a renewal of the authority to spy on Carter Page--a US citizen---first obtained by the Obama administration in October 2016 based on a Verified Application to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court by the FBI relying on the unverified Steele Dossier paid for by the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton.
    Granting the Application ensured that communications between President-elect Trump and persons in his re-election committee could continue to be monitored by the FBI for at least three more months until April 2017.
    Did Obama make known to Trump this was happening? It certainly was not mentioned in the handwritten letter Obama left for Trump in the top drawer of Obama's desk in the Oval Office.
  • The decision on 12 January 2017 to put into place new rules allowing the National Security Agency (NSA) to disseminate "raw signals intelligence information" to more intelligence agencies across the federal government by allowing direct access to such information.
On February 25, 2016, Charlie Savagehad reportedfor theNew York Times:

"The change would relax longstanding restrictions on access to the contents of the phone calls and email the security agency vacuums up around the world, including bulk collection of satellite transmissions, communications between foreigners as they cross network switches in the United States, and messages acquired overseas or provided by allies. The idea is to let more experts across American intelligence gain direct access to unprocessed information, increasing the chances that they will recognize any possible nuggets of value. That also means more officials will be looking at private messages -- not only foreigners' phone calls and emails that have not yet had irrelevant personal information screened out, but also communications to, from, or about Americans that the N.S.A.'s foreign intelligence programs swept in incidentally."
Those "nuggets of value" could now be far more easily leaked to the media without the leakers being identified. Was Obama laying the groundwork for destabilising Trump's Presidency? Kamala Harris has the credentials to elicit answers from Biden--having told the first presidential debate:
"I was Attorney General of California. I led the second largest Department of Justice in the United States, second only to the United States Department of Justice, in a state of 40 million people."
Was Biden consulted on each of these decisions? Did he agree? Biden must come clean--or suffer the consequences.
