United State of Veterans

Welcome to the the United States of Veterans. Many will say: "Abandon hope, all ye who enter here". And yet, it's you who should abandon hope for a visa, all ye VA desk jockeys, civil serpents, pink pajamas paladins and Foxtrot buddies. This is United State of Veterans. The only State completely surrounded by a wall. The wall wasn't built by Veterans, it was gradually constructed by corrupt politicians as a monument to their own treason. However, these were the Veterans who had to pay for it –with blood, with sacrifice and with isolation.

So many hoped that soldiers are somehow disposable; can be discarded after use, or tossed into a dusty drawer. Some trusted in the annihilating power of bureaucracy, others thought the broken toys should just get lost on the streets. So many tried to divide to rule and succeeded. Some failed miserably and that's how the small but truly unified state got registered and blacklisted. We are still here –surprised? The oath-keeping soldiers, the faithful widows, kids of POW and KIA, brothers in our spilled blood, guardians of our homeless ones, body guards of our Elders, advocates of our Agent Orange- poisoned heroes. We count our losses, we mourn, we lose limbs, we lose jobs, but we are the ones who understand Chesty Puller's esprit du corps that "means more than self-preservation, religion or patriotism". Some knew the nightmare of battlefields, others were tormented for saying "No" to alphabet soup agencies; You can no more send us to hell, we know the place well enough to show you around. We know Project Paperclip likes and Operation PTSD and our e-mails went through Sec Divert. And yet, there are not enough treacherous desk jockeys in the world to stop united Veterans from going where ever they want to go. United States of Veterans is also a state of mind; the same anger when our flag is disrespected, the same pain when homeless Veterans die on the streets, the same betrayal when VA sends "Dear John "letters instead of compensation for AO Veterans. if you don't leave anybody behind get your passport today, and as General Patton taught "do your damnedest in an ostentatious manner".

We won't be sent by the VA to look for Grid Squares again; Secretary Willkie, we don't want an"holistic approach", neither from the VA nor for VA toxic bureaucrats. How about Puller’s: «You don't hurt 'em if you don't hit ‘em"? So many politicians snapped selfies at Memorials to the Veterans they had not bothered to keep alive. We won't settle for "hurry up and wait", we're in a hurry to save our living. Commander-In –Chief, we had so many commanders-in-thief who pretended to listen…Will you be the one who actually hears? We hear about swing states and about "decisive" states with the most electoral votes, and yet no President can make America great again without the United State of Veterans, because it's the spirit of those who fought that made America great in the first place. United we fight, and when we fight-we win.
