Divisive partisanship has invaded Colorado in a big way this year. In the wake of the 2018 elections, footsoldiers from both the Republican Party and highly paid professionals hired by the Democrats are still fighting over the outcome of the state's elections last year. Conservatives and Republicans are serious about an effort to recall the newly elected governor, Jared Polis. The effort was once considered an unthinkable political tactic, but since the recall of California's Gray Davis, the practice is increasing nationwide. And, since the Democrat National Committee had orchestrated a political coup to remove Donald Trump from office, "all is (becoming) fair in politics and war"--or something along those lines.

Angry Colorado voters are concerned with the Democrat-controlled legislature that pushed through entire packages of Leftist priorities in 2019, including Gov. Polis' approval of the National Popular Vote Compact, which can likely eradicate the entire value of having Coloradans vote in any presidential election in the future. Many conservative leaders in Colorado see that Polis is attempting a fundamental transformation of the way the state functions. Like Gov. Gavin Newsom of California, Polis is currently backed by a state legislature that would support any bill he desires to pass into law.
Polis apparently never campaigned to support the National Popular Vote effort that would essentially nullify the Electoral College, which the Founders created in Article II, Section 1, Clause 2 of the Constitution of the United States. This one action in itself lays a foundation for a fundamental transformation of the U.S. political landscape. Such an action, if accomplished with the union of enough states would also nullify the votes of the good people of Colorado as this move represents an effort to promote the voting power of high-density populations of specific states like New York and California.
Polis, the first elected openly gay governor in the U.S., has also promoted mandatory sex education in the public schools, which is in line with legislation that was already passed by the California legislature in 2019. HB 1032, Colorado's California-styled, radical sex education legislation, seeks to expand on sexual indoctrination of students in the public school system. Just as in the state of California, where Leftist legislators ignored the genuine concerns of parents, HB 1032 will introduce the controversial idea of "Gender Identity" as a core theme in the public curriculum that seems to promote "gender transition" programming.

Other issues being pushed by Colorado Democrats are in alignment with the national agenda of the "Democratic" Party which is intent on destruction of the morality of America based upon the Judeo-Christian values and heritage of our nation. The "Democratic" Party's national agenda is also intent on the destruction of the principles established under the Constitution, like the Electoral College, as mentioned previously. An attack on the Second Amendment at the state level via "red flag" bills or laws also coincides with the national agenda aimed at disarming most law-abiding citizens. These laws are called Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs). In April of this year, Governor Polis signed HB 19-1177 into law. It is an ERPO that looks as if it has been put forth as "common-sense" legislation to disarm people who could allegedly pose a danger to themselves or others around them. It is similar to the way President Obama's Administration was able to limit access to many returning war veterans desiring to purchase firearms.
However, this legislation goes further as it would allow a court order to be sought against any gun owner to have their guns seized in the instance someone "believed" the gun owner could pose a threat to people. Despite widespread opposition to this bill by law enforcement officials and various police organizations across Colorado, it is now law courtesy of one-party control in Colorado, which is beginning to mirror California in many ways. One may say that the evil disease of "Progressive" political persuasion is the best contagion money could buy. Disarm all law-abiding citizens, allow illegal alien criminals to invade the nation, and then cast the real law-abiding citizens as the enemy of the state. Colorado needs to realize the dangers in such legislation.
One of the Colorado-specific issues that the recall is aimed at is to curtail the efforts Governor Polis and his radical legislators are making to have a 2005 ballot initiative become permanent. Referendum C, approved by Colorado voters in 2005, permits the state to retain and spend an amount of revenue above the TABOR Amendment limits to revenue the state can retain and spend. It was only passed as a five-year, temporary measure. The TABOR Amendment had been approved by Colorado voters in 1992, and the intent was to limit the amount of revenue the State of Colorado can retain and spend. As established by the law, any surplus revenue in excess of the Referendum C cap must be refunded to Colorado taxpayers. The Democrats intend to retain and spend any surplus. It is in their political DNA - even at the state level. It is yet another violation of public trust!

Unfortunately, when it comes to American politics, no matter what the level, there has been a long history of corruption and abuse of the public trust. In the 2016 general election, much of the shadowy activity came to light, and it continues to come to light at the national level as the duly elected president is constantly under attack by individuals who have the most to lose if Donald Trump drains the swamp in Washington, D.C. The fact of the matter is that there are swamps in every part of the nation that need draining--Coloradans are becoming aware that they are not immune to the rigors of local swamp monsters.
Unfortunately, not only are the "Dismiss Polis" citizens up against the elected Democrats, but they also have to contend with Democrat "Activists" who have no real qualms about efforts to stop the recall petition effort via public intimidation and verbal assault tactics. According to a recent report by Sherrie Peif of The Complete Colorado news source, Wheat Ridge police have been looking for an assailant who attacked Recall Jared Polis volunteers last Wednesday. The suspect was reported to have kicked over tables and chairs while verbally assaulting the two volunteers. He also is reported to have attempted to steal the signed petitions. This is one way for democracy to advance its noble cause. The ladies must be commended for withstanding the attack.

Ken Buck, reputedly one of those with a "Never Trumper" mental perspective, is certainly not known for his support of the recall effort. And recently, Anna Staver of the Denver Post reported that Senator Cory Gardner is waffling on the recall of Polis.
Staver reported that Gardner "danced around" a question posed to him about the Polis recall. And at a recent GOP event in El Paso County, he was quoted as saying: "You know what, we gotta focus all we can on winning in 2020; getting our congressional seats back, getting our state legislature back... That's where I'm at. You may agree or disagree, but boy I think we gotta get our nuts and bolts together so that we can win."
Meanwhile, Colorado conservatives, and seemingly some other clear-minded Republicans, are left with Jared Polis until his term ends in 2023, if he is left in office. And, if he is actually not defeated by the voters in 2022, he will repeat a term. By doing nothing, nothing is accomplished. All recall efforts in Colorado, which also includes recall efforts against two Democratic senators, definitely face real challenges. Yet, hope does exist. A handful of brave and brilliant men stood against all odds over 200 years ago and changed history. It will take genuine and determined leadership to make the recall effort an accomplished reality.
If the leadership behind the recall movement can maintain unity within the overall effort, and if regular people in Colorado can respond with sincerity in the attempts to rid the state of such destructive-minded elected officials, there is an opportunity for Colorado to truly drain their local political swamp. Certainly, belief and hard work are now required, but that is true of anything that is truly worthwhile. All of this, plus effective use of time will truly determine whether the Coloradans who love their state can rescue it from the destruction intended by the Party and supporters seeking to destroy the entire Constitutional Republic as it stands. United "We the People" stand; divided they could fall."
