Congress is closing shop They’re heading home today They raised the debt over the top Our children will now pay Summer recess is now in session To hometowns they will go To ask forgiveness at confessions For voting Yes not No Will they look you in the eye And your grandchildren too Will Town Hall meetings go bye bye Will they sing the blues Check their websites and give a call When will your Town Hall be Date and time and most of all Will he show his face to thee? It’s our time now to speak our mind Let them know just how we feel Where is the money they plan to find To pay for this debt deal? Please call your Congressman and find out if and when they plan to have a Town Hall. If none are planned, ask them why? If they don’t plan one – you should. Bring your friends to your home, your community center or ask your local tea party to host one and invite them to come. August is the month for them to reconnect with their constituents. If they don’t meet with you, it’s primary time. And a special note for those who stood up and said, “Enough. We need to fix this mess and not kick the can down the road any longer.” Thank them and encourage them to keep the faith at their Town Hall Meetings. Their courage was awe-inspiring and gave us hope for a better future.
