The Tea Party backed debt plan, the “Cut, Cap, and Balance” bill

Disaster Awaits! What will you say to future generations?

It seems our country is headed in a downward slide. I cannot sit back and not take notice…even as I have been out of the political writing arena for some time.

The big question is indeed, “What will you say to future generations if we don’t pull ourselves up out of the mire?” My generation (some are proactive), and those in the even younger generations, are watching as our country accelerates into collapse or bankruptcy. All lawmakers in Washington are doing is handing it off for someone else to take care of…the endless bickering, the unyielding stand from President Obama. Meanwhile, economists are spelling out disaster if we keep going in the same direction. Who are we, as the American public, going to listen to? Politicians or the economists who know what they are talking about? All of us must realize that the debt talks in Washington will have an effect on us eventually. I’m not an economist, I won’t go through the figures, but I ask the American public keep track of what is going on. It will soon affect you, if nothing is done. We are all in this together, but it seems Republicans are the only ones putting forth a credible plan, with Democrats blocking any solutions that are brought up. All they have are “ideas.” No solutions. The Tea Party backed debt plan, the “Cut, Cap, and Balance” bill passed the House of Representatives 234-190, along party lines sadly, and is expected to be vetoed by President Obama, but not before it is likely shot down by Senate Democrats. The bill requires a cap in federal spending, a cap on future spending, raise the debt ceiling, and an amendment to the Constitution regarding spending. Sounds like common sense right? But again, it’s politics as usual in Washington. What’s the hold up?! Mind you, the American people—the voters, put the Tea Party on the map so to speak to tell Washington to STOP SPENDING RECKLESSLY! To ignore a common sense bill, to vote down or veto this bill, would be messing with the futures of so many hard working Americans! We don’t need politicians, no matter the party, trying to make a show of themselves by being noted as the one who comes up with a solution to this problem. The American people JUST WANT SOMETHING TO BE DONE! Many Americans KNOW that when they are in dire straits, they will not hesitate to cut down on spending and adjust accordingly. So our so called leaders should do the same. Follow our example!
