The Felicity File

Guilty Cat

Editor's Note: CFP Columnist John Thompson has recently acquired a new member of the household. He has written the Felicity File: Encounters with my kitten Guilty Cat: So who disturbed my model tanks, their turrets all askew? I’ve not touched them, except to dust – Felicity, was it you?

Two of four volumes of Dame Picard fallen open upon the floor; Excellent histories to be sure, why didn’t you pull more? My shaving brush was by the sink, now it lies upon the mat. A poltergeist or an alien? The smart money’s on you, cat. Those receipts for my taxes on my desk all neatly arranged, Are now scattered widely; Only a feline could be so deranged. Shredded paper adorns the floor, two of my paintings hang aslant. I should rant and rave and roar, but when I find you, cat, I can’t. An innocence you can’t possess is on your sleeping face And in your sprawled and sleeping form there is a perfect grace.
