Obama's Communist/terrorist connections

It’s the Communism, Stupid

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama tried to deflect a question about his relationship with terrorist Bill Ayers by saying that he “engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago when I was 8 years old” and that he was now a professor and a neighbor. The real issue is whether Obama shares Ayers’ communist views. Obama admitted to exchanging ideas with Ayers on an irregular basis but did not say what those ideas were. But we know that Ayers, rather than just being a 1960s “radical,” was a member of a Marxist-Leninist communist group.

The Weather Under-ground, or Weathermen, wasn’t just home-grown and domestic in nature, although it had evolved from the so-called Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), which laid siege to college campuses and tried to take over administration buildings. Their openly proclaimed goal was world communism and they had links to hostile foreign powers.

“We’re revolutionary communists,” Ayers himself said in 1969.

The FBI said that the Weather Underground had more contacts abroad than the Moscow-controlled Communist Party USA. Which brings up another aspect of Obama’s background—the role of his childhood mentor, Communist Party member Frank Marshall Davis. This is the hard-core Soviet apologist who filled Obama’s head full of anti-American thoughts at a tender age. About Ayers, Obama said that he’s not somebody he exchanges ideas with “on a regular basis.” What ideas? And does that mean he communicates with him on an occasional basis? We need more questions and answers. But in a posting on the far-left Huffington Post website, Ayers’ brother, Rick Ayers, accused Senator Hillary Clinton of McCarthyism for daring to comment on Obama’s ties to this communist terrorist when the subject came up in the April 16 Democratic presidential debate. Such a charge of “McCarthyism” is designed to intimidate not only Clinton but the media.

Does the phony charge of “McCarthyism” prevent the media from exploring the more critical issue of Frank Marshall Davis’s influence on Obama?

The Davis connection is essential to understanding why Obama would exchange any ideas at all with Ayers. At that point in his life, after he had moved from Hawaii, where he listened to Davis’s Marxist “poetry” and anti-American and pro-Soviet rants, Obama was receptive to the kinds of “ideas” that Ayers would offer to him. The media should demand to know what those ideas were.

The False Veneer

Obama has been clever to appear bipartisan and moderate, despite a very liberal voting record. He let his guard down in a big way when he not only endorsed but sponsored the Global Poverty Act, which would funnel a massive amount of foreign aid (by one informed estimate $845 billion) to Africa and the rest of the world, perhaps as partial reparations for slavery. It is curious that Obama doesn’t talk about this bill, which is on the verge of Senate passage, and it is strange that the major media don’t mention it, either. It is a potential budget buster that sheds light on Obama’s world view. The “exchange” of views with Ayers and others of his ilk may also shed light on what Obama might do in other areas, such as the critical field of education, where the federal government has assumed a larger role. It turns out that Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, another former communist terrorist, are now specializing in the education and the raising of young people. They even have a book coming out on the subject. Obama himself seems to have some strange ideas on child-rearing, having brought his young children to hear Sunday sermons from a pastor, Jeremiah Wright, who has exhibited anti-American and anti-white tendencies and sentiments. For his part, Ayers wasn’t just a terrorist; he was a communist terrorist aligned with and manipulated by Moscow’s communist apparatus, operating through Cuba, against the United States. Many members of the group traveled to Cuba, sometimes to meet with the Vietnamese communists, and others went directly to Hanoi, North Vietnam. One of their stated objectives was to prevent the U.S. from stopping a communist takeover of Vietnam. They succeeded, with the acquiescence of a liberal Congress, which cut off U.S. aid to the South Vietnamese government, and more than 58,000 American soldiers died in vain. Senator John McCain was an American prisoner of war being tortured by the North Vietnamese communists while Ayers and his comrades were giving aid and comfort to McCain’s torturers.

Dozens Of Bombings

The FBI was desperate to apprehend Ayers and his comrades because they were operating with foreign support and direction and the dozens of bombings they carried out between 1969 and 1975 did an estimated $100 million in damage. A policeman had been killed in San Francisco by a bomb planted by the Weather Underground at a police station. Seven others were injured. Eight were injured in the Weather Underground bombing of the New York City police department. Fifty-nine policemen were injured in a riot the Weather Underground promoted in Chicago.

If anything, ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos was too timid in his questioning of Obama during the April 16 debate.

Here’s how Stephanopoulos put it: “A gentleman named William Ayers, he was part of the Weather Underground in the 1970s. They bombed the Pentagon, the Capitol and other buildings. He’s never apologized for that. And in fact, on 9/11, he was quoted in the New York Times, saying, ‘I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.’ An early organizing meeting for your state senate campaign was held at his house and your campaign has said you were ‘friendly.’ Can you explain that relationship for the voters and explain to Democrats why it won’t be a problem?” A “gentleman” named Bill Ayers? The only reason he’s not in prison today is because the FBI employed allegedly illegal break-ins as part of their search for members of the group. FBI officials thought the break-ins were justified on national security grounds but terrorist lawyers would have had any charges against them thrown out.

Killing The Police

Some of the terrorists, of course, did go to prison. Kathy Boudin went to prison for her involvement in an October 20, 1981, armed terrorist assault that left Nyack Police Sgt. Edward O’Grady, Patrolman Waverly Brown and Brinks guard Peter Paige dead. A website, memorial and scholar-ship have been created in their honor. David Gilbert also went to prison for his role in that assault. He co-authorized the SDS booklet, “U.S. Imperialism,” whose first page includes a quote from the Communist Manifesto. He wrote the book, No Surrender: Writings from an anti-imperialist political prisoner, which includes an endorsement on the back cover from Ward Churchill, the disgraced college professor who achieved notoriety for comparing 9/11 victims to Nazis.

On The Communist Side

Other titles from the “SDS lit list” of June of 1969 included Which Side Are You On? US History in Perspective, Cuba vs U.S Imperialism, and Cultural Revolution in China. SDS literature regularly referred to police as “pigs.” Hillary Clinton, during the debate in which the subject of William Ayers came up, meekly noted that Obama “served on a board with Mr. Ayers for a period of time, the Woods Foundation, which was a paid directorship position.” Notice how Senator Clinton referred to “Mr. Ayers,” after Stephanopoulos had called him a “gentleman.” In rebuttal, Obama noted that “President Clinton pardoned or commuted the sentences of two members of the Weather Underground, which I think is a slightly more significant act than me serving on a board with somebody for actions that he did 40 years ago.” So both of them have something to answer for. And so does George Soros.

The Soros Connection

One of the terrorists pardoned by Clinton was Linda Evans, who became a “Soros Justice Fellow,” named after the controversial left-wing billionaire, George Soros, who spent millions of dollars to defeat President Bush in 2004. She was given a Soros grant to “increase civic participation of former prisoners.” This is the same Linda Evans, according to an FBI report, who said that during a trip to Hanoi in 1969, she was shown an anti-aircraft gun, cradled it in her arms, and “wished an American plane would fly over.” For her part, Dohrn in 2004 was advertised as a featured speaker at the Baltimore branch of the Open Society Institute, a group funded by Soros. Her topic was discipline in schools.

JEREMIAH WRIGHT’S CONTROVERSIAL AIDS CHARGE

Asked during the question-and-answer period following his National Press Club speech on Monday why he charged the U.S. Government with manufacturing the AIDS virus to kill black people, Barack Obama’s “former” pastor Jeremiah Wright cited a 1996 book by Leonard Horowitz, Emerging Viruses: AIDS and Ebola. This rang a bell. I had exchanged correspondence with Horowitz several years ago because I caught him promoting an old Soviet disinformation theme that has been disavowed by former Soviet and KGB officials. Is Wright parroting communist propaganda? If so, he may also have seen it on the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather. The charge that AIDS is a plot against blacks has been used by people like Jeremiah Wright and Louis Farrakhan to inflame race relations. Louis Farrakhan’s newspaper, The Final Call, ran an article (December 15, 1999) quoting Horowitz as saying that AIDS is a “genocidal plot” against blacks. The paper’s on-line version carried a link to the Horowitz website. Horowitz claims a copy of his book was used in the Will Smith movie, “I Am Legend,” about a plague that kills most people on earth and transforms some that are left into mutants. As a skeptic of some of the claims about AIDS, I examined the Horowitz book. Horowitz, who has quite a following and speaks around the country, raises some legitimate questions about AIDS, vaccines, and the medical establishment. The U.S. certainly studied the feasibility of using viruses or germs as weapons. But the claims about AIDS being manufactured by the U.S. Government as a weapon of population control have been debunked. I told him the evidence showed the Soviets had used the AIDS charge against the U.S. to divert attention from their own biological weapons program. He replied, in part: “I am happy to learn that the Nation of Islam’s, The Final Call, a newspaper that issues Louis Farrakhan’s concerns regarding HIV/AIDS as genocide, has a direct link to our website. I applaud Minister Farrakhan, and a half dozen other Black leaders, who have grasped the truth about HIV/AIDS as a utilitarian population control plot, and have the guts to say it.” Horowitz released another book, Death in the Air, which purports to include information about the “intentional targeting of black Americans and Africans for population control, including depopulation, as is being accomplished by the AIDS epidemic today.” The release for the book cited an alleged “secretly dispatched National Security Memorandum 46 to cabinet chiefs only” from Zbigniew Brzezinski, who was national security adviser in the Carter Administration. The release said, “This document, the most telling, authorized the FBI and CIA to initiate genocidal policies.” This document was reproduced in “Soviet Active Measures. Hearings before the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, House of Representatives, Ninety-Seventh Congress, Second Session, July 13, 14, 1982.” These 1982 hearings produced evidence that the document was a forgery, possibly of Soviet origin, designed to hurt U.S. relations with Africa. An analysis showed that one of the individuals involved in its distribution was a former member of the Communist Party USA who became affiliated with the World Peace Council, a Soviet front. The document, an obvious hoax, included no reference to genocide. Rather, it outlined a bogus government effort to monitor and provoke blacks at home and abroad. There was an authentic Presidential Review Memorandum 46, but it concerned events in Central America. It can be found in a listing of Carter presidential National Security Council documents.

Rather Falls for Soviet Ploy

Wright isn’t the first public figure to repeat the claim that AIDS is a U.S. weapon to kill people. The claim that AIDS was manufactured by the United States was reported by CBS Evening News anchor Dan Rather on a March 30, 1987, broadcast. Rather was widely criticized for playing into a Soviet KGB disinformation campaign. The charge had appeared in a number of Soviet and Third World publications before Rather picked it up. Horowitz went further than Rather, suggesting the charge is backed up by “evidence.” In his book, Emerging Viruses, on page 363, he wrote that “For years preceding the end of the Cold War, the KGB gathered evidence, that Russian officials ultimately reported, suggesting an American origin of AIDS. Officials alleged that the AIDS virus had been a Pentagon invention—a germ unleashed for political purposes in Zaire.” The Soviet KGB had planted charges in a propaganda operation designed to conceal the hand of the KGB. A report on this matter is “Soviet Influence Activities: A Report on Active Measures and Propaganda, 1986-87,” published in August 1987 by the U.S. Department of State. The published hearings of the House Intelligence Committee are also very useful. The Horowitz book, on page 364, reproduced a Soviet Pravda cartoon depicting the “American origin” of the AIDS virus. He gave “courtesy” credit to Covert Action Information Bulletin. In fact, he cites individuals associated with Covert Action Information Bulletin as legitimate sources of information on this topic. Yet this publication, according to 1980 hearings of the House Intelligence Committee, published a Soviet forgery of a NATO document as if it were authentic. Covert Action Information Bulletin was associated with Philip Agee, the CIA defector who collaborated with the Cuban Communists. The AIDS charge against the Pentagon was disavowed in late 1987 by then Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev, who said, “No more lying. No more dis-information,” in an effort at a more open foreign policy. (In fact, the Russians have continued these disinformation campaigns since the fall of the old Soviet Union, as the book Comrade J documents). At the time, however, Russian officials were trying to put on a fresh face. In fact, four years before the Horowitz book was published, Yevgeni Primakov, former head of the KGB, admitted that “the KGB planted stories in the late 1980s which alleged that the HIV virus was the result of a Pentagon experiment.” In 1992, two former officers of the East German intelligence service, the Stasi, published a book in which they described how they collaborated with the KGB to promote the AIDS disinformation, using Russian-born East German professor Dr. Jakob Segal. This is mentioned in John O. Koehler’s 1999 book, Stasi: The Untold Story of the East German Secret Police. Former KGB officer Oleg Gordievsky admitted the Soviet KGB role in spreading the AIDS charge against the U.S. in his 1990 book, KGB: The Inside Story. Gordievsky called the charge a “fabrication” that “also took in some of the Western media.” The leading Soviet AIDS expert, Viktor M. Zhdanov, also repudiated the anti-American charge. The Sword and the Shield, published in 1999 and written by British professor Christopher Andrew, includes more information. An expert on Soviet intelligence, Andrew wrote the book in consultation with Vasili Mitrokhin, a former Soviet KGB archivist who defected to the West in 1992. They call the AIDS charge “probably the most successful anti-American active measure of the Gorbachev era, promoted by a mixture of overt propaganda and covert action by Service A…” of the Soviet intelligence service. Fortified by “spurious scientific jargon,” they wrote that “the AIDS fabrication not merely swept through the Third World, but took in some of the Western media as well.” They cite a front-page article in the conservative British Sunday Express in October 1986.

Obama Denounces Wright

On April 29, Obama denounced Wright’s comments, saying that “..when he states and then amplifies such ridiculous propositions as the U.S. government somehow being involved in AIDS, when he suggests that Minister Farrakhan somehow represents one of the greatest voices of the 20th and 21st centuries, when he equates the United States wartime efforts with terrorism, then there are no excuses.” He added that “ …when I start hearing comments about conspiracy theories and AIDS and suggestions that somehow Minister Farrakhan has been a great voice in the 20th century, then that goes directly at who I am and what I believe this country needs.” All of this is not to say that questions should not be raised about the science behind and even origin of AIDS. Journalist Celia Farber wrote a provocative piece, “Out of Control: AIDS and the Corruption of Medical Science.” She is the daughter of famed radio talk-show host, Barry Farber. It would be a tragedy if Wright’s wild charges prevent an open and honest debate about the nature of AIDS. After all, 24 years after HIV was declared at an April 23, 1984, Washington news conference, as the probable cause of AIDS, there is still no cure or vaccine. About $200 billion has already been spent by the U.S. Government on HIV/AIDS but investigations have found corruption in the various programs that test and distribute anti-AIDS drugs. The United Nations has been caught red-handed inflating the number of AIDS cases, even while a U.N.-backed international airline tax is being implemented country by country to spend even more money. If the media want an issue in this campaign, they’ve got it. Why the unlimited spending on AIDS?
ON THE EVE OF MEMORIAL DAY, WE RELEASED A COLUMN ON THE candidates’ communist connections. Senator John McCain’s communist connections consisted of bombing the communists during the Vietnam War and then being shot down, badly injured, captured, and tortured by them. On the other hand, Senator Barack Obama was mentored by an identified Communist Party member in Hawaii who had functioned as a Stalinist agent. That was before Obama developed cordial relationships with communist terrorists who openly supported the communist regime that tortured McCain and killed 58,000 of our fellow Americans. MCCAIN WAS ON THE AMERICAN SIDE DURING THE VIETNAM WAR. HE RISKED HIS LIFE BY personally carrying out the U.S. policy of resisting the communist military conquest of South Vietnam. Obama had friendly associations with those on the other side and they helped launch his political career in Chicago. Keep in mind that we are not talking about associating with those who simply opposed the Vietnam War. In Obama’s case, he had friends, such as Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, who cheered for a communist victory and visited Havana, Cuba and Hanoi, North Vietnam to bring that about. Like his associates in the communist Students for a Democratic Society, Tom Hayden of “Progressives for Obama” was caught with a letter urging a communist military victory over the U.S. These were people who supported the enemy. In the case of Frank Marshall Davis, Obama’s childhood mentor, we are dealing with someone whose involvement on the communist side goes way back. He supported Stalinist Russia even after the Hitler-Stalin pact. This relationship helps explain why Obama would leave Hawaii, associate with Marxist professors and attend socialist conferences in college (as he admits in his book, Dreams From My Father), and then associate with terrorists, communists, and socialists in Chicago, where he would launch his political career. Davis was a key influence over the young Obama, filling his head with anti-American thoughts. RATHER THAN FOCUS ON DAVIS, SOME IN THE LIBERAL MEDIA ARE MAKING FUN OF McCain’s war injuries. Brent Baker revealed that, during a report on the release of McCain’s medical records, Dr. Jon LaPook asserted on CBS News that “people” notice that McCain is “not able to raise his arm” and think “doesn’t that look funny?” Baker asked, “Who thinks McCain’s limitation, caused by an attack on him after his plane crashed in North Vietnam and he was denied medical care, looks funny? In what circles does CBS’s doctor travel?” The answer, of course, is the circle of Obama’s friends, where veteran correspondent Linda Douglass has now ended up. She has taken a job as a press secretary and adviser to Obama and previously worked for CBS News, ABC News, and National Journal. SIGNIFICANTLY, THE BASIC FACTS OF THE OBAMA-DAVIS RELATIONSHIP WERE ORIGINALLY disclosed by Professor Gerald Horne, a contributing editor of the Communist Party journal Political Affairs, who talked about Obama coming under the influence of Davis during a speech at the reception of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) archives at the Tamiment Library at New York University. Horne, a history professor at the University of Houston, noted that Davis, who had moved to Honolulu from Kansas in 1948 “at the suggestion of his good friend [and secret CPUSA member] Paul Robeson,” came into contact with Obama and his family. As Horne describes it, Davis “befriended” a “Euro-American family” that had “migrated to Honolulu from Kansas and a young woman from this family eventually had a child with a young student from Kenya East Africa who goes by the name of Barack Obama, who retracing the steps of Davis eventually decamped to Chicago.” However, in Obama’s 1995 book, Dreams from My Father, Frank Marshall Davis was identified only as “Frank.” Among other things, according to Obama’s own account, Davis told him that blacks had a reason to hate and that he should not believe all of that (expletive deleted) about the American way of life. HORNE IS NOT THE ONLY SIGNIFICANT FIGURE TO TALK ABOUT THE INFLUENCE OF “FRANK” on Obama. Dr. Kathryn Takara of the University of Hawaii, who knew and interviewed Davis and wrote a dissertation on his life and career, confirmed to me that the “Frank” is, in fact, Frank Marshall Davis. Takara, an Obama supporter, confirmed that Davis was a significant influence over Obama during the three or four years that he attended the Punahou prep school. These would have been the years 1975-1979. She said Obama had been introduced to Davis by his grandfather, Stanley Dunham, who considered Davis a “strong black male figure” and thought he exerted a “positive” influence over the young man in his high-school years. Asked why she thought Obama didn’t identify Davis in his book by his full name, she replied, “Maybe he didn’t want people delving into it.” She said that this could have had something to do with Davis’s lifestyle, rather than his politics. “Frank’s was a place where you could have drinks,” she said. Yet, Obama has been open about some things—such as his past drug use. It is difficult to understand why he would not name “Frank” as Frank Marshall Davis simply because “Frank” drank or hosted people who did. It is apparent that Obama covered up his full name because of the notoriety surrounding Davis’s political views. Remember this was a black communist who stayed with the CPUSA even while others, such as Richard Wright and Langston Hughes, broke with it. UNFORTUNATELY, THERE ARE MANY IN THE LIBERAL AND CONSERVATIVE MEDIA WHO want desperately to avoid this subject. The liberals want to protect Obama. The “conservatives” avoiding the subject don’t want to be accused of “McCarthyism” if they bring it up. One of them apparently is John Solomon, executive editor of the Washington Times. Another is Bill O’Reilly of Fox News. Please send them the enclosed postcards. IN ANOTHER OBAMA-RELATED SCANDAL, COMPUTER DOCUMENTS SEIZED FROM THE Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and authenticated by INTERPOL demonstrate that the communist narco-terrorist group has been receiving support from anti-American Hugo Chavez of Venezuela.. The documents show that an agent of the FARC referred to “the proposal of the gringos,” explained by FARC foreign minister Raul Reyes as a reference to the “new president of their country” being Obama, who opposes a free trade agreement with Colombia and the U.S. military aid program for its anti-communist government. One has to wonder who those “gringos” are. We already know that one Obama adviser, Rob Malley, has resigned, after it came to light that he had meetings with the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. He had also been working for the George Soros-funded International Crisis Group. His father was a member of the Egyptian Communist Party. WE AT ACCURACY IN MEDIA WILL CONTINUE TO RAISE THESE UNCOMFORTABLE TRUTHS. But we can only do so with your help. Please use the remaining postcard to send us a vote of confidence with a special contribution enabling us to continue digging into the communist connections of Obama and his advisers. There is no issue more important. With the liberal media anxious to see him elected president and many in the conservative media afraid to raise the tough issues, it will be up to AIM to bring out the hard, cold facts.
