After the Democrats were stung by losing the last presidential election, they found a way around the Constitution without holding a constitutional convention to amend it - the National Popular Vote bill. The National Popular Vote bill requires all electors to cast their vote for the candidate who wins the national popular vote. To date, 12 states have passed the bill into law- (CA, CT, DC, HI, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, RI, VT, WA) - with a total of 172 electoral votes. The bill will subvert the electoral system after it's approved by the number of states required to equal 270 electoral votes.
If they reach the goal of 270 electoral votes, hard working patriot Americans will lose their voice in presidential elections. The problem is that Democrats have a subservient group of voters who are dependent on them for handouts and welfare, and Democrats are experts at rigging elections. Although the Democrats promote the bill by claiming it will strengthen democracy, America was not founded as a Democracy. What democracy means to Democrats is one party rule.

Moreover, media talking heads and politicians on both political sides refer to our Constitutional Republic as "our democracy." When I hear one of them say our democracy, the first thought that comes to mind is: Are these people ignorant or just shills? They have to be one or the other. Do these people know the meaning of the word democracy, or are they just conditioning the public to accept the idea?
As Thomas Jefferson said, "Democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where 51% of the people may take away the rights of the other 49%." That was the reason the founders created the electoral system - so that big cities with large populations couldn't impose their choice for president on less populated areas. It gives people living in less populated areas, like Kansas and Nebraska, a voice in presidential elections.
In the book 'Democracy: The Fall of the Athenian Republic', written in 1787, Alexander Tyler had this to say about Democracy. “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.”

Like all failed socialist systems, they prey on the needs, desires and fears of poor and middle class people. Hugo Chavez and Nicholas Maduro promised the Venezuelan people pride and prosperity. They took over the political system, the economic system and healthcare. Right now, Democrats are busy doing the same things Chavez and Maduro did. They already took over the healthcare system, and they are trying to take over the political system by subverting presidential elections.
If Democrats are allowed to destroy the electoral system, America will eventually be transformed into another Venezuela
Once Democrats establish control over the political system, there's nothing stopping them from taking over the economic system and establishing a socialist dictatorship just like all failed socialists leaders did. They will be as democratic about taking over the economic system as they were taking over the healthcare system. They withheld the text of the healthcare bill. The people were not given a chance to read the bill let alone vote on it. How is that Democracy? If Democrats are allowed to subvert the Constitution and gain control of the government, the people will lose their voice in government entirely.
Finally, the only difference between Chavez, Maduro and the Democrats is that Chavez was a nationalist and Democrats are globalists. They will bankrupt the treasury and then cut social security, welfare and freebees. They will open our borders to criminals, terrorists and drug runners, thus turning America into a third world dictatorship complete with thought police, reeducation camps, concentration camps and execution squads. If Democrats are allowed to destroy the electoral system, America will eventually be transformed into another Venezuela "papers please".
