There is a world of difference between taking something seriously, and panicking over it

The Convenient Timing of the Coronavirus

History assures us that Covid-19 will be conquered by science and that another virus, originating in a bat cave, a pig farm or an open-air poultry market somewhere in the world, will rise up to take its place. That's the nature of the beast. -- David Oshinsky "America's Forgotten Epidemics"
The Democrat establishment has successfully replaced crusty commie curmudgeon Bernie Sanders with cringe-worthy candidate Joe Biden…who gives every appearance of being long past his sell-by date.  (The time to euphemistically refer to Biden's obvious mental lapses as innocent "gaffes" is surely over, yes?)
Regardless of whether the Democrat presidential nominee turns out to be Biden or Bernie, the Dems are in big trouble.  Trump has been riding high on a wave of a great economy and increasing popularity.   What to do, what to do?  Cue the coronavirus. It is no secret that the Left would rather destroy the US economy than risk four more years of Trump.  Add to that the globalist elite's well-known penchant for social engineering and fondness for population reduction, and one can be forgiven for taking a rather jaundiced view of the whole coronavirus brouhaha.
[Social engineers] love to use fear against us. -- Bruce Sussman"5 Emotions Used in Social Engineering Attacks"
With the 2020 elections looming large, the coronavirus panic seems to be conveniently timed to damage the US economy, and distract We the People from important topics such as FISA abuse, roots of the Russia hoax, and Biden's dealings with Burisma.   The media is, of course, adding fuel to the fire of panic with their "lions, tigers, and bears, oh my!" coverage of the virus.

The silver lining here is that with coronavirus the globalist Left has jumped the shark (again), and jumped the gun (again).  Their over-the-top coverage of the coronavirus, while perhaps effective for their cause in the short term, will eventually boomerang on them (where have we seen this before?) as it becomes obvious over time that they have been crying wolf too loudly and for too long.  In addition, I believe that the coronavirus media-induced panic will peak too soon to be of much use to the Democrats in the upcoming election.  As the dust starts settling a month or two from now, the US economy will rebound and the public at large will come back to their senses.  Which will leave President Trump with plenty of time to regain any momentum lost due to the coronavirus scare. In the meantime, he just needs to remain presidential and protect the best interests of America's citizens, as he has been doing. Please keep in mind that I am not implying in any way, shape, or form that the coronavirus should not be taken seriously.  I take any respiratory illness seriously, be it the flu, pneumonia, coronavirus, whatever.  But there is a world of difference between taking something seriously, and panicking over it.
