The Cruzification of Ted

On election night, 2012, I was in Dallas, co hosting the Wells Report on 660 The Answer. My Dallas friends were surprised to find out that I had heard of Ted Cruz. They were really stunned to learn that we conservatives in California--yes, we do exist--were closely watching Ted Cruz's race. We knew the real deal when we saw it.
And he hasn't disappointed. So good is Ted Cruz that Obama wants to make him the new face of the Republican party. So do I. In the minds of the Democrats, that makes Cruz the symbol of obstructionism. I hope so. We need lots more of that. According to Trail Blazers, when Obama went to Texas last week, ostensibly to educate Rick Perry on the topic of economic policies, he really wanted to frame the debate as the compromisers (his White House) vs the Obstructors (Ted Cruz and the other Good Guys).

Liberals are also frustrated with Cruz because they can't make him out to be stupid. Alan Dershowitz told the Daily Caller that Cruz was among Harvard's brightest students. I thought liberals loved Ivy League intellectuals. Dershowitz is not surprised that Cruz went on to big things and says that " [Cruz] has to be at the top of anyone's short list in terms of raw brain power". Even James Carville admits that Ted Cruz is America's "most talented and fearless Republican". He certainly made a complete fool out of Dianne Feinstein, admittedly no great challenge, during her most recent attempt to do away with the 2d Amendment. Cruz actually knows what's in the Constitution and unlike liberals, doesn't consider it a mere nuisance to be ignored. Ted Cruz drives liberals battier than they already are. Bill Richardson doesn't think Cruz is "Hispanic enough". Harry Reid called Cruz a schoolyard bully. To which Cruz quickly fired back that he didn't realize this was a school yard. That's what makes Ted so extraordinary. He never backs down, doesn't wimp out and best of all, doesn't allow himself to be brow beaten into apologizing for imaginary slights. RINOs don't much care for Cruz either. He's not cooperating with the go-along-to-get-along congregation. That's a nice change from the doughy RINOs we keep offering up as presidential candidates. Liberals and RINOs are making it manifestly clear that they are terrified of Ted Cruz as well they should be. Joy Tiz ©2013
