No more smoke and mirrors, it’s time to GET REAL!!

Time is of the essence

“Liberty means responsibility, that’s why most men dread it.”- George Bernard Shaw House Speaker John Boehner’s debt bill passed 218-210, the second bill presented with conservative or rather common sense approach to spending in mind-- with no Democrat support! The second bill was tweaked to try to gain some compromise but, to no avail and failed negotiations. Twenty-two House Republicans voted against the bill.

It’s not the Tea Party who “strong-armed” Boehner to pass his bill; it is the will of men and women in the House of Representatives who are TIRED of partisan bickering over pieces of legislation. They see the end of the train tracks ahead for the nation… they see the dire situation we face. They acted. Meanwhile, I don’t see where those who voted against this bill could see fault in it. This makes the second time that a conservative backed bill to cut spending and take more responsibility of our money has passed the House of Representatives but with opposition from Democrats and those who want to stick to the status quo…playing politics on our future! Isn’t it time for a change? Currently, the Dow is down 4.2% (as of July 29)... worst in a year, the markets as a whole are down and apprehensive over this situation. Economists keep talking about our credit rating… AAA…trying to hold on to that stellar rating. So downgrade our rating! Why choose to put up an illusion when we as a nation are not meeting fully our financial obligations? No more smoke and mirrors, it’s time to GET REAL!! “I stuck my neck out a mile…put revenues on the table …it's time for the administration and time for our colleagues across the aisle to put something on the table. Tell us where you are!,” exclaimed House Majority Speaker John Boehner. Read more: With the passage of this bill, no one “won.” It is just a plan to get us on solid footing…this is not for any politician to gloat over. There are indeed similarities to the Boehner bill and the bill Senator Harry Reid of Nevada put in place. Such momentum has occurred in two days or so regarding a compromise—problem is, nobody wants to, in the Senate, consider a bill if they feel it has a Republican or conservative touch. Read More: Just because the party in power in the Senate happens to be Democrat, does not mean that they have the power to completely shelve or block any proposals that come from the House… especially sensitive and urgent as this debt situation we face. Let’s finally get something past the Senate. Currently it’s a “hurry up and wait” scenario.
