Words of Warning: I know what tyranny and oppression looks like because I have already lived through it

When states started passing seat belt laws in the 1980s, a customer, who befriended me, told me that seat belt laws represented the beginning of tyranny. He said, "laws designed to control behavior always start out for our own good, but they always end up being used to oppress." He went on to say that police should not be charged with enforcing laws that are for our own good. Their concern should be keeping us safe from criminals - not from ourselves. At the time, I thought Sam was just a cantankerous old man because he always talked about how corrupt both political parties had become, and how they work together against the will of the people. He said politicians had already stopped representing the people and he kept telling me, "that's how tyranny starts; with corrupt politicians and judges that look out for each other instead of looking out for the people."

He told me that "once corrupt politicians gain power, they hire and appoint others that are just as corrupt and dishonest as they are to positions of power." During one conversation, Sam talked about his fear of where America is heading. He told me, "America is on the road to tyranny because too many politicians have been caught in criminal activities, and they are not being held accountable." He said, that's a warning that tyranny has already begun. I thought of his words after the FBI and Justice Department refused to hold Hillary Clinton accountable. His words really came home recently because of the Biden- China cover-up. According to my old friend, when government officials and politicians become above the law, that's a warning that a tyranny already exists. He said, "when you see innocent people being falsely accused of crimes against the state, people being persecuted for political purposes, tyranny has already reared it's ugly head." His words came to mind immediately after the Russian collusion scam, and the prosecution of Gen. Michael Flynn. The subsequent cover-up of Democrat malfeasance and misconduct during the Obama regime really brought his words back. He said, "tyranny starts by censoring free speech and suppressing the truth. Tyranny is when the press engages in political propaganda and the defamation of political opposition." He added, "that's always accompanied by thugs roaming the streets; rioting and looting in major cities."

White Privilege Scam, blaming white people for the ills of society

At the time, I didn't think anything like that could happen in America. However, everything he was concerned about is happening or has already happened. Sam said that socialists gain power by claiming to be the benevolent side and accusing the other side of being harsh and oppressive. "They blame the competition for all the problems of society. Then they find a group of people to blame for the ills they created; an enemy to persecute for the ills of society." When I first heard about the white privilege scam, blaming white people for the ills of society, I couldn't help but recall Sam's warning. He warned: "When you see groups of people being played against one another by the government and the press, the suppression of religious beliefs and the passage of laws that infringe on freedom of expression, tyranny and oppression already exist. When you see the integrity of elections being compromised and judges upholding a political ideology instead of the law, a tyranny already exists." Although I dismissed Sam's concerns at the time, as ramblings of an old man, his words are as fresh in my mind today, as they were when he said them, because I see his description of tyranny happening before my eyes. He described exactly what is happening today. I told Sam that I didn't think that could ever happen in America, and I asked him why he was so concerned. At that, he rolled up his sleeve and revealed a number tattooed on his arm and said, "I'm concerned because I know what tyranny and oppression looks like and what comes with it. I have already lived through it." Sam is gone now, but his words will live on through me. His words have become mine to share with those willing to listen and heed Sam's warning. May he rest in peace, and may Americans wake up before it's too late.
