Jukebox Live Resto Lounge

Five Stars for classy new dance club in Pickering

Jukebox Live Resto Lounge provides an atmosphere filled with energy, which can be felt the minute you walk into the establishment. The management team ensures the best live entertainment in town and a great variety of music played by request through the DJs in between sets and during the after party. The management team, security and wait staff always provide a safe welcoming environment for patrons. The music caters to the crowds in the age group from 25 to 55 and plays the Top 40, R & B, 70 to 90 Retro and Classic Rock. With such a wide range of ages, no one is left feeling out of place and often everyone is dancing up a storm on the huge dance floor. So take a step into the classy club with the feeling that you are actually entering a Jukebox. The elegantly decorated, open concept establishment has a long bar at which to hang out, comfortable corner couches adding warmth and the 500-square foot dance floor. The amazing live entertainment can be seen front and center from an elevated stage . There is plenty of room for all your dance moves and lots of room for those who enjoy live entertainment.

The owners spent seven months renovating the club from a run down rooster coup to its modern day existence, totally transforming it to the JUKEBOX LIVE, which opened in July 2006. Since that time, they have steadily built loyal clientele and attracted as many as 450 customers on a regular Friday night.

Coming from Stoney Creek, I had the opportunity to attend the Jukebox with friends on numerous occasions, and found myself wanting to come back. I was more than pleasantly surprised by the Lounge and have now found myself wanting to return more regularly on a Friday or Saturday just to escape reality for a night. And, yes I am not the only one who travels far in search of top of the line entertainment and dancing. During my last outing to the Jukebox; I met a female from Burlington, who had also traveled a great distance to the Jukebox Live and described her attraction in attending the club. According to her, she has not found any entertainment clubs in Western Ontario or the Greater Toronto Area that was worth the travel, but Jukebox Live keeps her coming back. It's the little extras that make you feel that your patronage is appreciated. Like the lovely woman in the washroom who hands you a towel to freshen up after a long run on the dance floor. The on-the-ball maintenance crew is always on hand if a drink is spilt. When I'm speaking to local customers, I find out that they have become regulars. They return again and again for more experiences with the upbeat management, wait staff and security personnel, the patrons and of course, the music, live or by requests to the DJs.

This is definitely a step up for Pickering and sets the bar high for other dance clubs in the GTA. Jukebox Live is filled with a dynamic atmosphere that keeps you dancing and not wanting the night to end.

An interview with Suzan Selimovska, of the management team, provided greater insight into the time spent renovating the Jukebox Live and how gratifying it was to have a long list of clientele that keep coming back.

According to Ms. Selimovska, the venue is a great open concept space with an elevated stage area, a 500-square foot dance floor, a dining area surround by large windows, two large sofa lounge areas, a great elevated main bar serving the whole area, a satellite bar tucked in one lounge area, two patios on either side of the great room, and an elevated stage along with three large projection screen televisions. The decor is modern and deliberately grandiose with richness and shine, all complemented by subtle lighting. The club facilitates for large numbers and there is capacity of 500-plus, with seating for 100.

As the Jukebox Live is open for patrons Thursday through Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., Ms. Selimovska described the banquet facilities offered Sunday through Wednesday for private and business functions, including popular events like golf tournaments, Christmas parties and fundraisers with available seating for up to 150 patrons.

My hat is tipped to the management team and new owners for their vision and ability to offer such an entertaining, safe, warm and welcoming club near East Toronto. The music, staff and energy will keep you a regular. It truly is an establishment well worth visiting for all those who want to dance, mingle and enjoy a variety of music.
