Barack Hussein Obama’s polling numbers are inching toward Jimmy Carter levels. In spite of this, POTUS continues to push his ever-increasingly unpopular agenda with unrestrained fervor. HR 3200, the healthcare reform portion, has been rehashed, debated and restitched together more times than Joan Rivers’ face. Obama and his devotee supporters have reversed their stance on so many issues that not even Abbot and Costello could make a usable routine out of it.

Sometimes, in spite of the Mainstream Media’s erstwhile efforts, shades of the real Obama are revealed. A Senator from my own State of Nevada, Sen. Ensign, received a handwritten note from the Joint Committee on Taxation Chief of Staff Thom Barthold (a Democrat appointee) who confirmed that those who fail to pay the $1,900 fine for not having health insurance could also face a year in jail or an additional $25,000 fine. Barthold wrote on JCT letterhead. He signed it "Sincerely, Thomas A. Barthold." Remember what I have written time and time again, that the liberals consider the Constitution to be an inconvenience at best? Of course, looking at the preamble, "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, “insure” domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” There may be room for argument on Obama’s side, but using the word "insure" in that way is pushing things a bit. Oh look, is that a flock of swine headed south? No, what Obama wants is to convert our Democratic Republic into a fascist nanny state more closely resembling Cuba under Castro than anything else. Again, look at the man’s past associations and the philosophy he aligned himself with and then tell me I’m misreading things. Buy insurance or go to jail??? What is disturbing is that there is a concerted effort ongoing to eliminate this story from the net. It hasn’t shown in any major paper I know of. I saw it on Drudge yesterday. Today it isn’t there, but stories of lesser significance have stayed for nearly a week. The Democrats would really like to see the United States to become a clone of the European Union, adding Canada and Mexico into the mix. The problem is that they may get that union of separate, but equal sovereign states, but not in the way they hoped.

Quiet revolution against the Federal Nanny State

Another news story that is being held back from national exposure is the one regarding a quiet revolution against the federal nanny state within states legislatures, and Several states have begun discussing this movement. Back in the 2007 Nevada Legislative Session, I wrote a bill mandating Nevada’s refusal to implement the Real ID Act. It was signed into law. In the second story you will see others that have followed suit. The vast majority of the American people do not want the federal government doing their thinking for them. In spite of the media’s stories to the contrary, most Americans desire self-sufficiency and self-reliance. In 2012 we will have the opportunity to reestablish that self-reliance and place a real President into the White House. I am hoping that the American people will have the courage to do so. Party politics has not given us good choices in the past. One of the editors of my local newspaper, the Las Vegas Review Journal opined that they were guided by principle and not by party politics. He wasn’t being exactly truthful since I have had firsthand experience with their version of party politics, but the thought is a valid one. We are experiencing exactly what “party politics” over “principle” produces. How’s that paycheck of yours doing? In 2012 will we really want to experience another 4 years of the same? Looking closer, in 2010 we will have the opportunity to begin reducing Obama’s hold on Congress by replacing nearly every ultra-liberal Democrat currently sitting in power with a right-thinking conservative. So what if they are novices? So what if the opinion pages scream foul? So what if Obama vetoes every attempt to reverse his damage. The writing will be on the wall for the next presidential election and I doubt the extremist core within him will allow Obama to move away from where his one-world masters want him to go. It is far, far better to have an honest, competent novice doing the work of the country than an experienced corrupt incumbent. Or am I mistaken?
