Terry Schiavo: Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor:
Re: Terri Shiavo

Thank you, thank you for your commentary on this horrific subject.
I have recently been reading more trying to find out 'what is really happening' in the Terri Schiavo case. As the facts seemed to be coming more clear I was increasing in anger and agitation - in despiration I was searching the internet looking for any way of adding my voice to hers to increase the force to keep her with her family - and in the bigger sense to keep her with us - for if she is allowed to die the value of each of us is lessened.

Re: Mainstream media unreported conflicts of interest in Schiavo tragedy

Thanks to Judi for a great article and finding many of the links between Schiavo's killers that have been ridiculously underreported in the American media. I just hope the truth finally comes out and her death will help rout out the guilty and protect the innocent who are being silently murdered by the thousands. I will bet at some point, this hospice will close. The whole myth of hospice needs to be explored. I watched my niece die a hideous shocking death at their hands that none of her family members will ever forget.

Re: Terri Shiavo

Your articles on the odd group of behind-the-scenes info on people connected to the Schiavo is not only enlightening, but important to people who are not so quick to kill off our relatives.
Have you done any research on the court-appointed guardian who did testing and evaluations of Terri Schiavo, whose last name is Wolfson? My friends and I are wondering just what his background is and where and how he was selected to be her guardian, etc. Is he also one of these hospice "members" and is he also one who is called upon who has a background with euthansia.
Also, do you have any information on the medical examiner who is now responsible for doing Terri Schiavo's autopsy?
We are hoping your investigating is no over, and that Rush Limbaugh will also keep informing his listeners of your information.
Thank you,

Re: Terri Shiavo

I can't tell you my frustration during the past two weeksat reading what the mainstream US press has written about the plight of Terri Schiavo. I have been amazed atthe journalists lack of investigative fervour. Surely with all the bits of information about abuse, the affadavits of nurses and doctors, the possibility that Michael Schiavo may have caused the brain injury in the first place, there would be a journalist who wanted to get to the bottom of it and expose the truth. But it seems the mainstream media no longer has such people on their staff, or does not allow them to print opinions that are contrary to the newspaper's agenda.
So it was like a breath of fresh air to find you writing the truth with such discernment. It restores my faith in journalism in the truest sense of the word. I am sure there must be many more people like you and hopefully they will come forward, and the powers that be that were responsible for Terri's terrible death will be held accountable.
Thank you for your insights and please keep up the good work.

Thank you for presenting these enlightening details surrounding the players in the Terri Schiavo drama. It is obvious there was much more than met the eye right from the beginning and you have effectively kicked the rock that hid the cockroaches.

Re: Terri Shiavo

Kudos on your expose of the conflict of interest characters in the Terri Schiavo tragedy. (And a pickup on the Rush Limbaugh show no less!)
Listening to the Felos vulture drone ad nauseum about "The Death Process" (Laura Ingraham did an incredible montage with about 15 non repeated references by Felos) I began to wonder how much money and motivation is involved in this industry.
Certainly Michael Schiavo had a not-so-conspiratorial motive to inherit Terri's insurance funds (estimated at $1.4 million at time of his sudden recollection of Terri's death wish). Felos certainly stood to gain considerably as well.
But what really got me thinking was Felos phrase "hasten the death process". I think that's literally if not figuratively what he said.
Does the Hospice industry and their directors stand to profit by speeding up the death of their patients?
Are they actually murdering their patients? I note your March 29 opinion suggests just that.
I think a little more sunlight on the matter is called for in order to flush out the rats.

Thank you for giving proper coverage of Terri. I'm not sure what could have been done for her except outright kidnapping. We can only hope that by continued coverage of this tragedy that justice will be served to those involved in the murder of Terri.

After reading all the conflict of interest I have to wonder, since all these people have to do with the county and friends with so and so etc. Do you think that perhaps the County Medical Examiner will give a true autopsy?
All I can say is, I hope each and every one of these people are held accountable for their actions. Starting from the Top right down to the Bottom.

Re: Terri transcending the Culture of Death

I just wanted to say ‘thank you' for your article on Terri Shiavo.

The reason you won't see the women's rights groups responding to this tragedy is because they do not wish to get entangled with Pro-Lifers. (Somehow, the idea of "women's rights" became "women's right-to-chose-abortion".) You have bravely written about the truth, but I hope you go even further. Someone needs to further investigate the questions you bring up in your Terri Shiavo article, "Why the Rush…?" in regards to "women's rights" organizations. For starters, most Americans have no clue how the term "sexual revolution" even originated. Most think it was the Women's Rights groups, when it was actually William Reich who first coined and popularized the phrase and concept. It was Mr. Reich's books that inspired people like Lenin to understand, "the success of any revolution depends on the cooperation of the women." How true that is! It was this revolution of sexuality that allowed communistic principals to be palatable and eventually supported by German and Russian women. It became their idea of "freedom". Now the American's have inherited those Marxist errors, which sharply contrast the "conservative" view point.

Liberals want to protect the innocent, but not before their right to chose the validity of human life (where and when they feel they should have the choice)

Re: Terri transcending the Culture of Death

Thank you for your leadership in writing the truth about Terri Schiavo's execution. We have an obligation to make her death as meaningful as possible and that starts with uncovering what really happened so people can make informed judgments - not off-handed opinions based on major media sound bites and twisted editorial comments. We need to view this as a starting point, not an end, for fueling this debate with facts and with truth. With God's help we may find a way to save our societies from gradual self-destruction. Maybe this issue will also be a unifying force for Americans and Canadians. I am in the unique position of being first generation American while the rest of my family is Canadian. Sometimes these dramatic moral issues serve to unify people across all kinds of political and ethnic lines - I hope that is just one positive result.
Keep talking about what happened and don't let these issues die - this is a pivotal moment for all of us in the civilized world. The Pope receiving a feeding tube at this time has the hands of God written all over it. He will keep Terri's example alive by his own example - we are going to have to ask many times in the future, as the Pope's health deteriorates and he loses the ability to speak and leave his bed, when will it be appropriate to starve him to death? No one life is more important than another but no one religious figure is more visible than the Pope. If there's anything we can do from here in Texas to support your efforts, let me know - keep up the good work.

Re: Terri transcending the Culture of Death

Terri is at peace now,and there's nothing anybody can do except to prevent it from happening again. Everything you have written, has everything to do with the way Terri was decreed to be forcefully starved to death. Terri was never convicted of any crime except as a perceived burden to her husband, who has gone on with his life, and couldn't be satisfied until Terri was gone . Terri was sentenced to death.

Re: A hollow kind of victory

Judi, thank you for your column "A Hollow Kind of Victory." Thank you for giving some small voice to one who has been permanently quieted by the most powerful nation in the world. There are many in the United States who can't comprehend how this could happen, but it has and our lives will never be the same.
As someone who never knew Terri, my heart is broken. I grieve for her, for her family, and for my country. I have always been proud of my country and the acts of compassion we have engaged in. But this morning, I took the flag down from the front of my home, and I don't know if it will ever go up again. Linda,

Re: Terri Shiavo

THAT WAS A EXCELLENT STORY YOU WROTE ABOUT TERRY SCHIVO. I THINK HER HUSBAND AND ATTORNEY SHOULD BE ARRESTED FOR MURDER. THE PROBLEM WE HAVE HERE IN THE GOOD OLD UNITED STATES IS THAT BUSHY BOY AND GEBBIE WEBBIE ARE IN TOTAL CONTROL OF OUR FREE COUNTRY AND NO ONE CAN STOP THEM, WE ARE ALL SICK OF THEM BUT ALL THE FILTHY RICH REPUBLICANS VOTED HIM IN AGAIN, WHAT CAN WE DO......WE ARE ALL DISCUSSING A IMPEECHMENT. AND WE WANT OUR SOLDIERS HOME NOW, NOT IN TWO YEARS FROM NOW. WHAT A MESS WE ARE IN, I THINK I'LL MOVE TO CANADA,DO THEY HAVE LOW INCOME RENTALS THERE? MS. C. LONG,HOUSING DIRECTOR,IN THE GOLDEN STATE OF CALIFORNIA WHERE WE ARE NOW TRYING TO GET RID OF ARNIE THE IDIOT.
