VIDEO: Dave Ramsey lays it out that ObamaCare is communism

I know there are a lot of Dave Ramsey fans in our audience, and I think you'll appreciate how succinctly and effectively he explains in under 10 minutes why ObamaCare cannot be anything but a disaster. It's much the same thing we've been saying here all along, but it's Dave Ramsey.

Things are getting pretty ugly in Venezuela

To understand the intensity of the protests now boiling over in Caracas, Venezuela, you have to realize just how squalid life has become under the socialist government that took root under the late Hugo Chavez and now continues under his hand-picked successor, Nicolas Maduro. Venezuela is a mess of corruption and economic horror, and the people have had enough:

Of course: Obama delays employer mandate another year

I suppose you could regard this as good news if you don't like the law that goes officially by the name the Affordable Care Act. It is, for all intents and purposes, not in effect, because the president of the United States simply exempts or delays whichever parts prove problematic.

Yes, it matters that Hillary was a ruthless megalomaniac 20 years ago

Every time something comes out that supports the impression that Hillary Clinton is a power-hungry megalomaniac, I feel somewhat duty-bound to comment on it even though I find it astonishing there is any question left about this proposition. How can anyone who pays even two bits of attention to her not see it? But I guess more evidence never hurts, so thanks to Alana Goodman for thoroughly reviewing the latest evidence of the obvious in the Washington Free Beacon. The papers recently released from the archives of the late Diane Blair, a close friend of Hillary's, basically give us some watch-them-making-sausage-type details of how Hillary operated back in the Clinton presidency.

Redskins respond to senators' name change demands: Why don't you do your actual job?

The Washington Redskins can't seem to find a coach and can't figure out how to win consistently. But give them this: They are not intimidated by politicians trying to turn them into the cultural crusade du jour. U.S. Senators Maria Cantwell and Tom Cole - a Democrat and a Republican, respectively - recently sent the Redskins a letter demanding that they change their name, calling it and insult and a slur. The Redskins were, uh, not impressed:

Here we go again: Governor, mayor say they're ready this time as Atlanta Ice Down II approaches

A lot of you were interested in Herman's insight about what went wrong in Atlanta two weeks ago, when day's worth of snow and ice turned into a nightmare that stranded people for many hours, and in many cases overnight. Public officials said they had learned from the experience and would be better prepared if there was a next time. I don't suppose they thought the next time would come this soon, but here we are, as another round of snow and sleet threaten to once again turn the roads into ice rinks starting tonight.

Iran threatens to sink U.S. warship

I assume this is primarily a show for the benefit of the rest of the Middle Eastern world, designed to show who has the muscle in the region. And I assume the Iranians are feeling their oats in part because they have no expectation that Obama will make them pay for acting like this.

Yes, marijuana kills people

The proposition is absurd on its face, yet many people embrace it because it either fits their political ideology or just their determination to alter their consciousness. It's the notion that people can use a "recreational" drug and it will be relatively harmless to them and others.

IRS memos reveal: Way more than a 'smidgen' of corruption

Remember President Obama's claim during the Super Bowl Sunday interview with Bill O'Reilly that there is "not even a smidgen of corruption" going on with the IRS? Why, he explained, they were merely trying to fix how they deal with some confusing rules that caused bureaucratic mistakes.

Illinois regulators shut down 11-year-old selling cupcakes

Eleven-year-old Chloe Stirling is the type of young person you love if you're a normal person who appreciates the entrepreneurial instinct and enjoys seeing it come alive in America's youth. But she's the type of person you feel the need to rein in if you're a soulless bureaucrat who is on a mission to assert that we can't have people going around willy nilly doing things contrary to the properly established order of things.

Uh oh: Traders selling off stocks like crazy

The left supposedly hates Wall Street, at least in its rhetoric. But that hasn't stopped liberals over the past year from seeking refuge in the relative health of the stock market compared to the rest of the economy. Look, the market is soaring! Obama must be doing great!
