Dub and Deb

'Ridin Out The Recession With Dub and Deb in “Miz Judi’s Kitchen'! Note to Readers: There are a few things that Dub doesn't know but one thing he does know is that the word 'Riding' (as in Riding Out the Recession) is spelled with a 'g' at the end. But Dub not only walks the walk, but speaks like he is: down home, true blue, and plain speakin' country folk. Dub and Deb are both native Floridians, live in Central Florida, and run a small business as well. They have five children, and seven grandchildren. Both love to cook, love to laugh, grow a garden, and generally try to "aggravate" most anyone around them basically...all in good fun, of course!

Reader Tips on Gardening

From : Wendy Good Ev’nin, I thought I might say a little more about my gardening ideas. Orange County picks up yard clippings each week. They compost them and then give the stuff out free. We have to take our own buckets to fill up with the compost, but I have to imagine that most community governments do something similar at this time. It is truly great soil and so rich in nutrients that it cuts down on the need to fertilize as often. I put out broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage last weekend. I bought the cheaper six packs of veggies at Home Depot and put out 8 of each plant. This will feed my family, my mom and a neighbor.

Deb and Dub are a keeper!

Reader Comments: From jGC: Deb, I'm so glad that your school bus memory brought a smile to your face. You are old enough to understand what your folks were juggling in order to keep your family above water. It is to your credit and theirs that this is a fond memory. It brought tears to my eyes. And God bless your sister, Jean. (Joyce)

Your ramblings and recipes are a boon to the readers of Canada Free Press, in addition to the viewpoints and news they publish. Thank God for you all.
