Congressional Hypocrites Demand ‘Due Process’ For Sen. Franken and Rep. Conyers Despite Exemptions From Laws They Pass
If Rep. John Conyers and Sen. Al Franken ‘deserve’ due process as Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats insist, isn’t that a privilege provided to citizens held to all of the laws of the United States?

With every Congressional session, lawmakers violate Federalist #57:

“they can make no law which will not have its full operation on themselves and their friends, as well as on the great mass of the society. This has always been deemed one of the strongest bonds by which human policy can connect the rulers and the people together.”

CA’s Capitol ‘Unwanted Sexual Advances’ Problem and Official Cover Ups

CA's Capitol 'Unwanted Sexual Advances' Problem and Official Cover Ups
With the casting couch being front page headlines in Hollywood, New York, Washington D.C. and in California’s State Capitol,“unwanted sexual advances” has become the latest unfortunate phrase in today’s news pages. Common to most stories is how perpetrators have protected themselves, with the help of high placed accomplices.

My previous article, “Capitol Cesspool: Dem. Sen. Nancy Skinner Involved in Cover-Up of Sexual Harassment?” identified just how deep the California Capitol swamp is, with then-Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner, head of the Assembly Rules Committee, covering up sexual harassment in the Assembly in 2009.

Capitol Cesspool: Dem Sen. Nancy Skinner Involved in Cover-Up of Sexual Harassment?
The California Legislature has declared and legislated sex “a contractual event,” and redefined consensual sexual relations as “rape” if it occurs on a college campus—but not in their own offices. Perhaps lawmakers should have turned their attention inward to their own Capitol offices where lawmakers have been accused of a great deal of non-contractual sexual events.

Headlines Monday by KTLA screamed, “San Fernando Valley Assemblyman Raul Bocanegra to Resign Next Year Amid Sexual Harassment Allegations.” But the devil is in the details. The article then states, “Bocanegra announced he will not seek reelection Monday, citing ‘persistent rumors and speculation’ regarding sexual harassment claims.”

GOP Tax Reform: Leave No Taxpayer Behind

GOP Tax Reform: Leave No Taxpayer Behind
Many California Republicans are excited about the federal GOP tax reform bill and anxious for tax relief, but others are warning about the negative impacts on individual taxpayers in high tax states like California and New York.

I spoke with California’s Congressman Tom McClintock this week to drill down into the corporate and personal aspects of the tax reform bill, to understand the nitty-gritty.

The bottom line for Rep. McClintock has to do with the personal income tax aspect: he says it needs to be removed from the bill until Congress can guarantee their plan will “Leave No Taxpayer Behind.”

CA Senate To Hire Lawyers To Cover Up Sexual Harassment

CA Senate To Hire Lawyers To Cover Up Sexual Harassment
The California Legislature is a hotbed of indecency, on many levels. Decades of vulgarity, obscene tales of trysts and assignations, and the usual gropes and grabs have made the rounds in local watering holes, and on the pages of newspapers. So when more than 150 women wrote an open letter last month condemning the culture of sexual harassment in the Capitol, news reports joined in the condemnation. Since then, more women have added their names to the letter. But it turns out the culture inside the Capitol is even more uncivil and indelicate than previously thought possible.

Following the women’s letter, it was reported that Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de León said his office has asked the women’s caucus for further recommendations on “new protections that will encourage those who have been victims or witnesses of harassment to come forward and report—and provide counsel and assistance throughout the reporting process.” Except some of the members of the women’s caucus, along with other legislative leaders, may have been involved in helping to cover up for abusive Senators and Assembly members in their capacity as Rules Committee members and senior members.

Jerry Brown Building His Empire Right Under Our Noses

Jerry Brown Building His Empire Right Under Our Noses
As California Governor Jerry Brown burnishes his climate change credentials on his crusade to Rome for talks at the Vatican, his adoring California media are ignoring what he is really doing.

“Absent a seat at the negotiating table, Brown has a role organizing state and local officials from around the world who are increasingly seeking to craft their own climate deals, independent of what their nations’ leaders do,” CalMatters wrote.

Brown has conflated the Trump administration’s disinterest in pushing faux climate change policies with a lack of leadership.

CA Gov. Jerry Brown’s War Against Reality… and the Climate

Nov 8, 2017 — Katy Grimes

CA Gov. Jerry Brown's War Against Reality… and the Climate
California Gov. Jerry Brown says the world needs ‘brain washing’ on climate change. Sounding indeed brainwashed, Brown said, “The problem ... is us. It’s our whole way of life. It’s our comfort ... It’s the greed. It’s the indulgence. It’s the pattern. And it’s the inertia.”

I hate to be a party pooper but the totalitarian trio of Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot also said the world needed brainwashing. But I digress.

Brown arrived at the Vatican in Rome Friday for 14 days of “climate talks.” Yet Sacrament Bee reporter Christopher Cadelago, who usually is comfortable sharing opinions, twisted himself into a pretzel trying to explain Brown’s dictatorial statements. Brown “said the path to transformational change must include the mass mobilization of the religious and theological sphere, but also the prophetic sphere,” Cadelago wrote.

Free Speech Clashing With CA Legislature and Govt. Colleges

Free Speech Clashing With CA Legislature and Govt. Colleges
Last week the California State Senate held the second committee hearing in two weeks on “hate speech” couched as “Violent Protests and Police Response.” Democrats were once again seeking approval for legislation on thought crimes. This is a dangerous path as countries without a First Amendment have demonstrated. Writer Andrew Sullivan says, “writers and speakers are now routinely hauled into court for hurting someone’s feelings or violating some new PC edict. In Canada, it is now a crime to use pronouns that have served the English language well enough for centuries, if you are not careful.”

This subjective PC speech policing is what California Democrats are also seeking, and particularly those Democrats from Berkeley. Sen. Nancy Skinner, a former Democrat Assemblywoman from Berkeley well-known for her love of gun control laws, now a State Senator, said she wanted to discuss charging much higher fees for those “controversial” speakers who have been invited to speak at UC Berkeley. Sen. Skinner—never one to let the U.S. Constitution to get in the way of her agenda—needs to read up on the First Amendment.

The Worst Kept Secret in Hollywood is also in CA's Capitol

“Me Too” is Growing

More than 140 women working in and around the California State Capitol have written a letter claiming to have been sexually harassed inside the Capitol by lawmakers and staff. The list has grown to 300 now.

“For four years in a row, the Democratic-controlled Legislature has quietly buried a bill—sponsored by a Republican assemblywoman—that would give legislative staff expanded whistleblower protections,” CalMatters reported. “Now legislative leaders have said they’re reviewing personnel procedures to see if they can be improved; the Senate is expected to announce in the coming days that it is appointing an independent investigator to look into complaints.”

Thoughts on Whining (not winning) and Analysis From the CA GOP Convention

Oct 25, 2017 — Katy Grimes

Steve Bannon, Grassroots army, California GOP
Another California Republican Party convention has come and gone, and many are asking, “Why bother?” given that “The outcome of the convention changed the nature of how the party operates and further consolidated power among a very few while continuing support of the terrible Top 2 voting system,” as Tom Del Beccaro, former CA GOP Party Chairman says.

I went to the convention Friday immediately following the second California State Senate committee hearing in two weeks on ‘hate speech,’ with Democrats seeking approval for legislation on thought crimes (article coming on that). So my tolerance level for BS, and Republican moderates’ pablum wasn’t very high. (pablum:  trite, naive, or simplistic ideas or writings; intellectual pap).

Numbers Show The Deck is Stacked for Republicans in California’s Legislature

Oct 18, 2017 — Katy Grimes

Elected Republicans represent nearly a third of California’s legislators, but are only getting 18 percent of their bills passed, for eventual consideration by Gov. Jerry Brown. This is despite the fact that they represent nearly 40 percent of the voters who cast ballots in the last election. And even worse, Brown so far has only approved about 16.5 percent of Republican bills, while Democrats saw 83.4 percent of their bills signed into law.

A few revealing statistics surrounding the outcomes for 2,550 new bills introduced during the recent 2017 session in the California Legislature point out which party gets to feast, and which can expect leftover crumbs.

The ‘Powertainment’ Industry is Crashing Down

Oct 15, 2017 — Katy Grimes

Hollywood is imploding right before our eyes. The NFL is bleeding fans and advertising dollars. Most daily newspapers have shrunk to the size of a brochure. Evening news has turned into infotainment—less info and news and more ‘tainment.’

The harrowing tale of Hollywood executive Harvey Weinstein is all anyone can talk about now, but hundreds, and maybe thousands were sure silent about Weinstein’s sexual exploits over the last two decades. Think of it as the worst kept secret in Hollywood and in liberal Democrat circles.

Jerry Brown’s California: Devastation, Plunder, Economic Failure

Oct 14, 2017 — Katy Grimes

People like me have been explaining for many years that California is an example of leftist policies to avoid, and the poster child state of what not to do unless state suicide is the goal. California has become the Greece of the United States, and is cracking up. But this crack-up isn’t funny, as I cover in my new book co-authored with Jim Lacy, California’s War Against Donald Trump: Who Wins? Who Loses?”

Despite the dire circumstances, the ravenous left in California continues at breakneck speed to implement so many detrimental, dangerous laws and policies, that Jack, the amoral leader in “Lord of the Flies,” would blush. Stranded on an island, this group of schoolboys degenerate into savagery. It sounds like California, doesn’t it?

California Democrats Schooled On Definition of ‘Hate Speech’ At Hearing

Oct 5, 2017 — Katy Grimes

There is a rumor going around the California State Capitol that the Legislature is about to vote on a ban of humor in the state, because every time someone laughs at something funny, it is apparently at the expense of someone else’s feelings.

If this sounds silly, the Senate hearing held Tuesday, ostensibly on “hate speech,” was even more nonsensical.

In a stunning court rebuke of the state Attorney General’s Office, a Sacramento Superior Court Judge announced Friday that Xavier Becerra’s title and summary for the Repeal of the Gas Tax initiative is “misleading and is likely to create prejudice against the measure”—and that he’d “do a rewrite himself” to make it clear the measure would repeal Jerry Brown‘s increases gas taxes and vehicle fees.

California Attorney General Becerra’s title placed on the gas-tax repeal reads: “Eliminates recently enacted road repair and transportation funding by repealing revenues dedicated for those purposes.”

“Fallacies do not cease to be fallacies because they become fashions.”—G.K. Chesterson

Concerned parents of school-aged children know that sexual revolutionaries and cultural Marxists are destroying our public schools and universities. But Charter schools were thought to be safe from these dark ideological radicals.

Sexual revolutionaries and cultural Marxists believe that there are no differences between men and women, and that “male” and “female” are merely social constructs.

Should Some Lawyer-Politicians be Disbarred?

Sep 16, 2017 — Katy Grimes

What recourse do American voters have with elected officials, and especially those who are attorneys, who knowingly pass illegal laws and policies, which violate the Constitution?

California will now offer a third gender option on driver’s licenses and birth certificates for “nonbinary” people who do not identify as male or female under a bill headed to Gov. Jerry Brown.

The California Left’s ‘Reality’ is Anything But

Sep 11, 2017 — Katy Grimes

California is known to the rest of the country as the land of fruits and nuts, and “Commiefornia,” and the Democrats in charge are not letting that reputation go unheeded.

A law that would criminalize the ‘misgendering’ of transgender persons is about to pass the California Legislature, and could result in a fine of up to $1,000 and a year in prison. What perfect timing for this social justice bill since the news of the “intolerant” 6-year-old who accidentally “misgendered” a classmate. Lock her up!

There is no tolerance for dissent or diversity of opinion in California, and certainly no tolerance for the “intolerant.”

Sacramento Appeasers Pay Gang Members To Not Kill People

Sep 8, 2017 — Katy Grimes

“An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.”Winston Churchill

While President Donald Trump has vowed that United States authorities will “destroy” the gang MS-13 as part of his crackdown on crime, the Sacramento City Council voted unanimously last week to pay gang members $1.5 Million to not kill people.

CA Gov. Jerry Brown’s Failed Shadow Presidency

Sep 7, 2017 — Katy Grimes

While California drowns in debt, its public schools are failing and ranked with some of the lowest reading scores in the country, criminals are being let out of prison and jails and crime is spiking, water is cut off to our farmers, illegal aliens and “refugees” are arriving in droves as Democrats are trying to pass legislation making California a sanctuary state, one dam we know of may still blow apart (who knows about the rest…), bridges are falling down, highways are crumbling, and Democrats flout federal election laws by allowing millions of illegals to vote, Jerry and his corrupt Democrats in the statehouse (and feckless Republicans) are introducing bills at lightning speed to add regulations, massive tax increases, more gun control, restricting more freedoms, all while prattling on about climate change and nuclear war.
