Robert Gibbs: Obama long ago abandoned the 'change' part of 'hope and change'

Remember Senator Obama? He was that guy who ran for President back in 2008. He loved using catchphrases like "hope and change" to capture the hearts of American suckers. By employing his near-indescribable oratory skills, he convinced a bunch of frustrated sheep that he was going to "change the way Washington did business."

For the first time, a majority of Americans on food stamps are working age

Barack Obama's most lasting legacy won't be in the foreign policy arena. Yes, his handling of the Middle East has been disastrous, but eventually his failures will be lost in the regions constantly-shifting political sands. ObamaCare won't be his legacy either. It's a big deal now, but five years after he leaves office it will probably be a distant memory - either repealed or replaced with something even worse. No, Obama's real legacy will be similar to that of Jimmy Carter. He will have presided over a widespread economic malaise - coupled with a nonexistent "recovery" - and his tenure will be viewed as a fiscal low point for the country.

Pentagon launching anti-missile surveillance blimps over D.C.

This autumn, the Pentagon plans to deploy a pair of surveillance blimps which will float at 10,000 feet above the Army's Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. The plan is to create a system that will be able to detect and destroy cruise missiles launched at the nation's capital from offshore vessels. So far, so good. Since we have almost nothing in terms of ability to intercept such a threat, the idea makes plenty of sense.

Obama: My poll numbers are tanking because of Fox News and Limbaugh

Earlier this week, the New Yorker magazine released an interview with President Obama in which he claimed that the rotten, bigoted, racists who used to support him and vote for him were causing his poll numbers to nosedive. It was ridiculous, and completely divorced from the reality of his administration's ineptitude, but that was the argument. Now, the magazine has released new excerpts from their piece, and the President has added a couple more culprits in an effort to explain his disastrously low approval ratings.

Hollywood conservatives under IRS scrutiny - because they met with Herman Cain?

If you've never heard of a group called "Friends of Abe," don't feel bad. They do their best to keep a low profile. You would too, if you were a group of 1500 entertainment industry conservatives living behind enemy lines in Hollywood. With a membership roster that's a highly guarded secret, Friends of Abe (named as an Abe Lincoln riff on 'Friends of Bill' Clinton) has become a sort of underground network for right-leaning entertainers. Among the few names who have confirmed membership in the anti-establishment support group are Gary Sinise, Kelsey Grammer, and Jon Voight.

Watch as Jon Stewart rips Barack Obama for the hypocrisy of his NSA 'non-reforms'

Last Friday, when Barack Obama gave a speech outlining his NSA "reform" proposals, I wrote a piece calling the address a "big pile of nothing." He offered no substantive constitutional protections, no evidence that suggested he had any real problem letting the NSA continue operating as-is, and no plan to move forward. In short, he kicked the can in a speech designed to deflect criticism away from his White House and aim it at Congress.

MSNBC can't understand why Bill Gates isn't quite buying into their 'raise the minimum wage' schtick

"Raise the minimum wage" has become the left-wing battle cry as we head into 2014. The false pretense is that Democrats care deeply about "income inequality," Republicans are evil fatcats, and if you don't vote for Dems the country will be taken over by a cadre of rich bankers. Never mind that, under President Obama, the gap between rich and poor has grown to a level not seen since the 1920's.

WSJ: Vast, overwhelming, majority of ObamaCare 'enrollees' already had insurance

Depending on the source, there were anywhere between 21 and 50 million Americans who were uninsured before the President made his ascent to the White House. We were told that, in a country as wealthy as the United States, this was simply unacceptable. Insurance was too expensive, health care was too expensive, and Barack Obama was going to fix all that. The ACA was touted as the quickest, easiest, and best way to make sure every American had affordable insurance.

Obama: my poll numbers are tanking because people are suddenly racist

According to last week's Gallup results, the only about 39% of Americans have a favorable view of the President's job performance. If you break it down issue-by-issue, the numbers get even worse. Since his record as President is absolutely perfect, with no boondoggles or epic "signature legislation" failures, one has to wonder why this is happening. What could possibly be sending his approval ratings into such a tailspin?

Incompetent feds admit they have no idea how many ObamaCare 'enrollees' have actually paid

You may remember that, back in November, Deputy Chief Information Officer Henry Chao of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services appeared at a hearing with the Energy and Commerce Oversight and Investigations subcommittee. During his testimony, he announced that “We still have to build the payment systems to make payments to insurers in January. There’s the back office systems, the accounting systems, the payment systems… They still need to be done.”

Obama's 'major' NSA reform proposals are about what you'd expect

I know. Throughout the ongoing NSA scandal you've been thinking one thing: What this situation needs is more involvement from someone who's completely unbiased - someone like Eric Holder. Well congratulations! This morning Obama will announce his proposed NSA 'reforms' and it looks like your Holder-based dreams are about to come true.

Pot meets kettle as Obama calls Snowden a 'self-important narcissist'

Back when President Obama was a wide-eyed candidate, he used to attack George Bush at every opportunity. One of his favorite targets was the surveillance state he said was created by the Patriot Act. In those days, he claimed that Big Brother was out of control, that the Patriot Act was an affront to the Constitution, and that - were he President - the whole thing would be brought under control.

UN Climate Chief: Chinese Communism 'getting it right' in fight against global warming

Despite its laundry list of human rights abuses, its oppressive anti-free speech government, and its nightmarish one-child policy, China is "doing it right." That's the word from the outdated and unnecessary body known as the United Nations. According to the Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, China leads the world in fighting the undeniable, totally real, scourge of man made global warming.

Shocker: Secret FISA court judges don't want watchdogs spying on their secret courts

If you're a judge in charge of a secret court that issues secret rulings determining who will be the target of secret NSA spy programs, the last thing you want is someone looking over your shoulder. For you, this whole Snowden thing has been a royal pain in the keister. If you had your way, things would just go back to the way they were. Then, you could simply keep running things without any of the pesky "transparency" that was promised by Barack Obama.

Obama administration unilaterally delays yet another ACA enrollment deadline

They were shunned. They were terrified. They were cowering in the alleys - sick, injured, and desperate for insurance. Millions of these tortured Americans had cried out for a savior, yet a cold, unfeeling world had turned its back upon them. They were the uninsured. They had pre-existing conditions. Allegedly, they were one of the main reasons we so desperately needed ObamaCare.

Israeli Defense Minister absolutely trashes 'messianic' John Kerry

Over the course of the last year, Secretary of State John Kerry has visited Israel a whopping 10 times. You would think that, with so much of his attention focused on the region, he would have accomplished ...something. Unfortunately, he may be the very reason that nothing is getting done. If Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon is to be believed, Kerry may actually be a part of the problem.

Only 24% of ObamaCare 'enrollees' are young and healthy

Unless you've been living under a rock hidden in the basement of the Unabomber's shack, you know that the White House needs young people to sign up for ObamaCare. What the administration calls "young healthies" are, without a doubt, the most important demographic if the ACA is too succeed. The pipe dream theory is that young people will pay in to the system but, since they're healthy, they'll need less care. Their premiums will therefore subsidize the sick and the elderly.
