Bill Nelson’s War on Florida Seniors

In November, 2000 William "Bill" Nelson was elected to the United States Senate by the citizens of Florida. He was re-elected in 2006. Mr. Nelson proclaims himself to be a a centrist as well as a champion of the seniors that comprise a large portion of his constituency. Any views he held as a "centrist" were abandoned long ago. Today he is a champion of nothing but the far-left ideology of Barack Obama.

The real Medicare bogeyman

The left wasted no time in going on the attack against Paul Ryan's plan to reform Medicare. The "scare the elderly" tactic was to be expected; nevermind that Obamacare takes $500 million from Medicare to fund a new entitlement; nevermind that 50% of seniors will lose their Medicare Advantage Plan under said Obamacare.

Hyphenating Gabby Douglas

On Thursday, U.S.gymnast Gabby Douglas won the All Around Gold Medal and the NBC commentator rushed to inject race into her win; proclaiming her the first "African-American" to win this event as if her race would hinder her ability to win. Call me confused but I thought she competed as an "American". Even Fox News picked up on the African-American theme and touted it. Apparently we must now also divide our Olympic athletes along racial lines. Seems to me that amounts to racial discrimination.

Return of the Hobbits

Eowyn: "The city has fallen silent. There is no warmth left in the sun" The Supreme Court ruling upholding Obamacare cast a pall over the Shire and the Hobbits residing within its borders. Not since the Dark Lord's proclamation in 2008 that he was five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America has this Hobbit felt more terrified and depressed.

Joe’s World

With the 2012 elections only a year away, I've begun to ask myself, "whatever will we do when Joe Biden is gone from our daily lives?" "How will we get through the day without a new installment of "Joe's World?" Joe has provided us with a daily dose of laughter in his own version of reality t.v; Joe's reality that is. Let's take a nostalgic look back at some of Joe's more memorable moments, proving once again intelligence is not a prerequisite for holding office.

Agenda 21, Sustainable Living, Mass Transit and the Nanny State

While watching some of the non-stop coverage of Hurricane Irene, my Hobbit brain began wandering to the subjects that make up the title of this article. I admit to tuning it out when Fox News put Geraldo Rivera on air for hours to report as only Geraldo can. For those too young to remember, several years ago Geraldo breathlessly went on for hours as he "uncovered" the secret treasures of Al Capone's vault. In between watching the sledge hammers and jackhammers work their way through the concrete, we were treated to Geraldo speculating about what was in the vault. After two hours of mystery and drama,we were treated to an empty vault. I now routinely tune out Geraldo.

Agenda 21, Population control and rationing in the shire

"Draw out Sauron's armies. Empty his lands. Then we gather our full strength and march on the Black Gate" If you weren't paying attention to the news yesterday you missed this headline from the New York Times, "U.S. Scrambling to Ease Shortage of Vital Medicine". It seems there are critical shortages of drugs to treat life-threatening illnesses.

They fear the TEA Party Hobbits

"We have time. Every day Frodo moves closer to Mordor" -- Aragon On Tuesday the New York Times published an Op Ed titled "Crashing the Tea Party". This rambling piece of gibberish was penned by elitist members of the realm of Academia; the same vaunted institutions that spawned the Dark Lord and his minions now attempting to force their Marxist ideology on the Hobbits of the Shire.

The Bus, The Beast and the Dark Lord of Mordor

"One does not simply walk into Mordor. Its black gates are guarded by more than just Orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep, and the Great Eye is ever watchful. It is a barren wasteland, riddled with fire and ash and dust, the very air you breathe is a poisonous fume." --Boromir at the Council of Elrond As the Obama taxpayer-funded campaign through the Midwest unfolds, we in the Shire are, or should be, focused on the shiny new bus our Dark Lord is traveling on. According to Secret Service spokesman, Ed Donovan, there are two buses at a cost of $1.1 million each. They were purchased from the Hemphill Brothers Coach based in Tennessee. The good news is the manufacture of the buses created jobs -- in Canada. Correct, my Hobbit friends, while on a supposed jobs tour, the Dark Lord is traveling on a luxury bus built by Prevost, a Quebec based company. It's the company's top of the line VIP model normally used by Rock Bands. Would we expect any less for our own self-proclaimed rock star?

War in Afghanistan, Muslim Brotherhood in the White House and Ground Zero

As a mother and a grandmother words cannot express my heartfelt condolences to the families of the 31 servicemen we lost Friday night in Afghanistan. Our country is grieving with you and you are in our prayers. The U.S. military represents the best we have to offer; their love of country is beyond reproach.

Happy Hobbits?

Rejoice Hobbits; the Wall Street Journal has proclaimed "Tea Party Triumph". To quote from their August 1 Editorial, "The big picture is that the deal is a victory for the cause of smaller government, arguably the biggest since welfare reform in 1996". By the way, how is that welfare reform working out for you since we have more Americans collecting food stamps than at any time in our history?

Of Saruman, Uruk-Hai, and Rep. Thaddeus McCotter

While watching Fox News on Sunday I was treated to video of the newest entrant into the GOP Presidential field, Rep. Thaddeus McCotter. It seems Mr. McCotter feels it is disrespectful for we Hobbits to refer to the more liberal and moderate Republican members of Congress as RINOS. Speaking on behalf of the Shire Community, Mr. McCotter, if our elected Republicans did not morph into Democrats the term RINOS would not exist.

Commercial Drivers License’s for tractor riding Hobbit farmers?

While the media was keeping us occupied with 24/7 coverage of "Wienergate", the Dictator in Chief signed Executive Order 13575 establishing the White House Rural Council. Remember Rahm's battlecry, " never let a crisis go to waste". For those still not familiar with Agenda 21, this comes straight from the U.N. playbook.

Speaking as a Hobbit

On Wednesday the "vaunted" Wall Street Journal ran an article titled "Tea Party Hobbits" in which they referred to those of us in the Tea Party movement as Hobbits. With all due respect to WSJ, bring it on. If this is the best you can do, you at the Journal are lightweights in the name-calling game. We've endured name tags such as "racist", "right-wing extremists", "terrorists", etc. and all you have is hobbit? Speaking for myself, I'm proud to be a Hobbit.
