A Few Random Thoughts

As thoughts run through my head (or perhaps stumble would be a more accurate characterization) I write them down. I usually think to myself “Hmmm, this might be good for an article”. But it isn’t always. Sometimes it’s just an interesting thought. So I decided to share some of these thoughts.

“…this organization”?

The brutal death of Lt. Muath al-Kaseasbeh, the Jordanian Air Force pilot whose aircraft was recently downed resulting in his capture by members of ISIS (or according to the Obama administration, ISIL) was simply videotaped horror. Even more than horror, it was an exercise in intimidation which was an attempt to cow those who might oppose the goals of Islamic State.

The Time Has Come

“A government of the people, by the people and for the people”. Do you think that phrase still describes our government … or has it become something else? Has it become a government of an elite few?

But Hey, It’s FREE!

You can always count on our President, Barack Obama, for some gimmicky giveaway idea that will appeal to the nearly untutored who don’t understand the one simple fact that is never, ever discussed when Obama unveils his latest brainstorm.

Just a Simple Question

As the 2016 election cycle begins to get itself organized, there are many questions that candidates need to answer. Consider, for example, just this one question: Exactly what are we getting for our tax dollars with regard to education?

We Can’t Defend Ourselves?

The wholesale slaughter of French citizens at the hands of Islamic terrorists should prompt the question that we need to ask ourselves: “Why are we not allowed to defend ourselves?”

Racial Magic

Exactly why do Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Barack Obama, Bill de Blasio, Eric Holder and other racialist hucksters go out of their way to get black Americans upset? They shout "The cops are killing you!" Yeah, that will work.

Is Now the Time for a Second Political Party?

No, my friends, the term “second political party” is not a typo. It is not an error. It is not a misstatement. The cooperation afforded to that tall, slim fellow who lives in the White House by those who call themselves Republicans can hardly be viewed as the behavior of what one would normally be referred to as the “opposition party.”

Has America Finally Begun to Despise BOTH Parties?

For many years average Americans, regardless of color, gender, national origin, religious affiliation (or lack of any religion), level of formal education or any other cultural identity have despised Democrat politicians more than Republican politicians.

What In The World Are They Thinking?

Could some lawyer reading this please tell me how willfully and publicly flouting federal law is not punished? I understand the concept of prosecutorial discretion, but that’s for the equivalent of jay-walking, not major felonies, correct?

Ending Two Wars or Just Concentrating on the War at Home?

Barack Obama constantly tells us that he has “ended two wars.” Has he really? Or have the wars of which he speaks actually continued, but in which he has chosen to refuse to play a part, while he has been promulgating a war against his own countrymen?

A Very Tall Child

Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has had many adjectives used to describe him since our President negotiated with (surrendered to?) the Haqqani network and granted their demands for the release of five hardcore Taliban leaders who were comfortably ensconced in the federal housing project at Guantanamo Bay in exchange for the release of Sgt. Bergdahl.

Just Do Your Job, Get a Bonus

When I was a young man starting out in the world of civilian employment I was fortunate to have worked for several gentlemen who were possibly the least politically correct people on the planet.

There are Only Two Types of Government

Academics, who for all their supposed disdain for the Bible seem to revert to religious symbolism when addressing the question of what the various models of government might be, in the same way that theologians argue the question of how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.

How Do You Eat an Elephant?

There is a very old category of jokes that mock the listener by asking them a question. The target is asked questions and the target immediately assumes that it must be a “trick” question. Two such questions come to mind immediately (since my grandfather took delight in tormenting me with them): “Why did the chicken cross the road?” and “Why do firemen wear red suspenders?”

Oh! Look! A Bunny…

Let’s see what the main stream media has been obsessing about recently. Well, “above-the-fold” on the front page (or the lead story on the 6 o’clock news) we’ve seen stories about Cliven Bundy and his racially tinged remarks. Oh, and by the way, he’s a Republican.

Did I Miss Something?

The latest development in the evolving disaster surrounding octogenarian Donald Sterling, owner of the Los Angeles Clippers pro basketball team revolves around the announcement by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver that Sterling shall be banned from the NBA for life and must, in addition, pay a $2.5 million fine.

Intellectual Bankruptcy of the Left

When is “racism” not racism at all? Racism is defined in most dictionaries as:
“…a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.”

Hispanics are No Longer a Minority

Apparently Eric Holder has decreed that any American who is of Hispanic descent will no longer be considered part of an oppressed minority.
