A black sergeant who was at the home of Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. when he was arrested says he’s been maligned as an “Uncle Tom” for supporting the actions of the white arresting officer. Lashley says Gates “may have caused grave and potentially irreparable harm to the struggle for racial harmony.” Lashley says he has become known as a traitor to his heritage by some because he “spoke the truth” about the arrest.CNN continues to play this dangerous game. Of course, when sending a reporter to cover this case, they sent Don Lemon to cover it. I’m sure his being black is only coincidental. And we all know how fair and objective he’s been on this topic. It’s obvious to this black conservative that CNN is keeping this passionate issue alive for ratings, despite the damage it will do for ratings, and they’ve played this game before. I’m sure some of you remember CNN’s coverage of the reading of the Rodney King-cop verdict where they split the screen in half. On one side, black students at Rice University and on the other, a sidewalk cafe in Encino with white patrons. CNN knew that whatever the verdict, there would be polar reactions. Sure enough, when the retried police were found guilty, the Rice students were joyously jumping up and down, while the Encino restaurant patrons were dropped-jaw in disbelief. Then Bernard Shaw acted all shocked there was such a racial divide in America, as did most of the mainstream media. Sgt. Lashley, I’m very sorry to hear what’s happened to you, but I’m not at all surprised. My only advice, avoid CNN again at all costs. You now know there’s nothing to be gained by associating yourself with that station. CNN, being the liberal entity it is, sees race first, truth second. Now wonder their nightly ratings are normally third and fourth.
