We will have a woman POTUS. Just not right now!

This missive is being written more for the women, to include my sister Mary, who said she was voting with her heart for Hillary. And, I would also like to include our female neighbors who have said unequivocally that 'Hillary is my girl'. And, as the women know, there are also a great number of men who agree that it’s about time we tried it with a woman at the helm, saying, "Look how the men have screwed things up, so far." And, yes for as many seconds as there are in a day, I wholeheartedly agree. For the sake of brevity, let's say as an instructor for the lifelong sport I am experienced in, I find women to be ten times more educable than men. Women actually listen to an instructor, so they might in turn learn something. And, might I offer somewhat in jest: unlike many of us men, women do not already know everything.

And, another interesting comparison I bring to the table is as a contractor. The number has to be close to 95% of all contractors, are indeed men; but, when it comes to reaching out to find a 'man' to do some needed construction work around the house, 9 out of 10 times, the women are the ones to make the initial call. Why, because men who are not contractors are intimidated by the men who are. And, again in jest I say, a successful businessman may not know which end of a screw driver to use, but damned if he'd let some unknown guy on the phone know that! I think you got my point. Someday a women would obviously make a great POTUS - just not right now, just not this woman. I do not say this in jest though: Hillary Clinton is not a Margaret Thatcher, but if you need a female leader for comparison, Eva Perone would be much closer. We read in an article yesterday morning the following quote, "It is extraordinary that we would see something like this just 10 days out from a presidential election" John Podesta said, as he was referring to FBI Director Jim Comey's decision to reopen the investigation into HRC’s use of a private email server. And we agree with Mr. Podesta, especially for his choice of the perfect word to describe it, for it truly is extraordinary that the Democrats would have nominated a woman with such a 'suspected criminal past' and, therefore, with so much baggage to hide.

We have 'almost' survived through eight hard years with a POTUS who has little to no love or respect for this exceptional nation, as our forefathers went to great lengths to warn us against; whether he was born here or not, only Nancy Pelosi knows for sure. But, he certainly did not, as a young man, grow up to work in or to love this country, warts and all. There is panic in the air in America this morning with prominent Democrats telling her to step down and let Tom Kaine step up and take one for the team. For all the women, and #nevertrump men, I would not be foolish enough to have you believe at this 11th hour that Donald Trump is the answer to our nation's problems. He is not. He is more like a first responder, the cop at the scene of a major accident. And, since I have used a number of analogies above, allow me just one more in closing. Officer Trump has dragged us out of our burning car and we are now being rushed through the ER doors. Through all the commotion, he makes a small sign of the cross on his chest as he silently prays that for all his dogged determination and efforts to get us here, he will have been successful. And, to prove to us that God does in fact have a sense of humor, he sent us a Donald Trump, warts and all, to give us our best and only chance of survival. For this exact moment in time, Donald Trump is, in fact, the one. MAGA!
