I am an American veteran who served two years in the Southeast Asian country of Vietnam. At that time I served under the same oath of office that most of you have committed to. I’m now past the mid-point of my eighth decade of life and have been a keen observer of your kind since the 1980s. In the overall scheme of things many folks would consider me a nobody, just one of the huddled masses. However, I consider myself an American patriot and I am damn sure an engaged citizen and voter.

My work on civilization management is nearing completion. It just starts with the realization that people are the effective owners of human civilization, and are, on agreement, able to assume management over it. But there is more, as only humans are entitled to receive the benefits produced by civilization. Then all that is missing is the vision of what can be changed, and the techniques available for us to assume senior management over all elements of civilization, whether nations, economies, or educational systems.

I have done the same thing as the author and am one year shy of my 8th decade. I agree with every single thing that he said and I think that our experience should be a model for American Citizens. I have absolutely no respect for slackers, period! If it was good enough for me to work every day since I was 12 years old, then anybody else can! Due to crappy economic conditions, I had to start over three times but we moved to Texas in 1992, where I started as a template maker in the counter top industry. I worked up to countertop sales and became the number one salesman in the company. When the CEO said I was making too much money, he curtailed many of my opportunities, so I quit and started my own countertop fabrication company on April Fool's Day in 2002. Before Biden killed the Houston oil industry, we were the number three fabricator in Houston. Since I am 79 and my wife just turned 70, we need to find somebody to take over, unless I go back to work.
