Why I Will VOTE to Re-elect George W. Bush!

by Michael ashbury

November 1, 2004

Has George Bush been the perfect President - No? Of course I don’t think there have been any perfect president in my lifetime. Yet George Bush, faced with extremely difficult and complex problems of an inherited recession, attack on our soil by extremists determined to destroy our way of life, and managing two wars has done an excellent job of leading this diverse country, keeping us safe and moving the economy in the right direction.  But, lets look at the REaL George Bush!

He is personable--he is a man of the people who you can look up to, not an elitist that has hair stylists flown in to do his hair or has gourmet food specially flown in rather than eating with those that John and Teresa consider the common folk.

He is a family man who loves his family and talks openly about the role of family in his life. He is not a man who saw a sick woman, suffering from depression, and said she stood in the way of his political career and just walked away. He is not a man that saw his past wife and children as illegitimate and had their previous life annulled so that he could marry another woman.  and, he is not a man that married women for what they could do for him rather that how he could contribute to their lives.

He is a leader who has surrounded himself with one of the most competent administrations in recent years, coordinated a divided Congress to lower taxes not once, but twice, led world leaders to support wars in both afghanistan and Iraq, and built a coalition of leaders to reduce terrorism worldwide.

He is a man of principle.  He is a man who makes decisions based on a principled review of the facts, rather than what is expedient at the moment

He is loyal to his former associates and country. Unlike a man who comes back from war and accuses his comrades and country of every imaginable evil act and supported an atmosphere that not only extended the war and the loss of life, increased the punishment of POW’s, and promoted a hatred of returning loyal soldiers that exists even today. John Kerry has been an affront to all of the sacrificed names on the Vietnam Veterans Wall.

He has core values. George Bush is a man who believes in his God, his family, his country and this country’s constitutional tenets that have made this the greatest country in the world, as opposed to a man that has yet to define what is important to him. John Kerry has been given a unique set of life opportunities but has squandered each in search for ego driven accomplishment.

He is decisive.  He is a man who studies a situation, including the learned advice of advisors and then makes a decision. He doesn’t waver from the decision he believes is right, compared with his challenger who will change his position on a moments notice if he feels it will gain him an advantage with a particular individual or group. George Bush doesn’t go out and run focus groups and surveys to determine which way the political winds are blowing before he makes the decision, while John Kerry is willing to change his decisions if those winds blow in a different direction.

He is a man who believes in the sovereignty of the United States, not one that thinks every american decision should be subject to a “global test”

He is what our Founding Fathers envisioned as a citizen leader, not a career politician that merely wants to add the role of President to his resume.

He is a religious man who believes that there is a higher power that influences his life and events on earth rather than an ego driven man that believes he has been anointed with the powers of God.

George Bush is a man of accomplishment having been elected twice to one of the largest and most diverse states in the country, compared to a man that has spent 20 years in the US Senate and can’t point to a significant accomplishment. In 20 years John Kerry has only sponsored 11 insignificant pieces of legislation; few of which benefited his home constituents or the nation.

He is a man who believes in the average american and the small business values that have made this country great, as compared to a man who feels the Federal Government is the answer to everyone’s problem. John Kerry’s liberal record has voted 350 times to increase taxes or against reducing them on working families, married couples, and senior citizens.

He is an honest man who looks you in the eye and tells you the truth, rather than a man who looks into the camera and says he met with every member, for hours, of the UN Security Council before the Iraq War, when in fact he did not.

George Bush is a visionary who believes the world can only be a more peaceful place if all citizens have the opportunity to choose their form of government and the direction of their lives, as compared to his opponent who seems to be stuck in a 60s mentality that believes that the United Nations is the answer to world problems.

He is a man who puts his country and family ahead of his own personal legacy, while John Kerry is willing to put his personal legacy ahead of his family, country and those that support him.

Everything considered George W. Bush has shown the wisdom and leadership to continue the war on terrorism and maintain the safety and lifestyle that americans have come to enjoy. He is deserving of my VOTE and the VOTE of all americans on November 2nd.
