I don't generally send out mass mailings however; I found Jack Layton's comments so offensive and this came right right after we lost eight young people in the course of a week on the ground in Afghanistan. Imagine the moral of those soldiers after such a loss. Imagine how difficult it is to watch your comrades killed and or injured. My oldest son Mike has had the arderous task of removing several fallen soldiers from the Hercules Aircraft both in the UAE and here at home in Trenton. Many would consider him lucky not to be on the front line, but even this duty has an adverse effect on our troops. My Nephew is in the Armoured Corps and could find himself serving in Afghanistan with little notice while my middle son trains as a reservist infantryman.
Stating publicly that the Afghanistan mission will not produce a military success is completely unacceptable by a member of the House.
It is for thisreason that I forward on this Jpeg and urge anyone who is as appalled by the irresponsible comments of Mr. Layton to forward this on to everyone you know and even to your MP. Perhaps if this Jpeg were to gain some momentum and catch the eye of a few politicians they might think twice before makinginflammatory comments at the expense of our soldiers.
If for any reason you do not wish to pass along this Jpeg please do not worry or feel pressured. The decision is completely yours.
