Legalizing Illegal Migration

The 2008 Litmus Test for National Office

By J.B. Williams

Wednesday, May 23, 2007

Those in political power call it Comprehensive Immigration Reform. Those opposed call it Amnesty. In either case, legislators on both sides of the aisle see further legislation as the only answer to a growing problem of illegal migration from the south and nobody in Washington is looking to reform those illegal migrants or the nation they leave behind.

It's YOU fom whom they seek reform!

All political eyes are on reforming Americans, who would much prefer elected officials simply enforce the already existing immigration laws, punishing violators on behalf of the law abiding for a change, before writing any new laws that will also go un-enforced.

If you are not on-board with the effort to legalize illegal migration, you are a bigot. Seeking to defend American sovereignty and security at your borders does not make you a patriot anymore. Today, it makes you an anti-Latino bigot, according to International Marxists and US Federal legislators alike.

The average American is increasingly fed up with the deaf ear of Washington DC, which hears perfectly fine when listening and acting upon the concerns of everyone in the third world, but appears to be completely deaf to the voice of the people who give them their power, you and I.

As a result, the litmus test for the 2008 election cycle may not be religious freedom, unregulated abortion, a non-existent social security lockbox or even the world wide war against international terrorism networks. It may well be American sovereignty and Homeland Security at our own borders, that becomes the litmus test for national office in 2008.

If elected politicians won't perform the one primary function the federal government was formed to do, provide for our common national defense, then we have no need for them at all.

The first problem with legislators is they think that if they're not legislating, they aren't doing anything. The second problem is, when the first legislation doesn't work, they legislate and legislate again, until somebody finally decides to ENFORCE. We end up with a pile of un-enforced laws worth less than the paper they are written on. If the legislators won't respect the laws they write, who else will?

This is nothing new, but our current crop of anti-American legislators is reaching well beyond the fundamental problem with legislators and becoming the single most dangerous threat to the people they were elected to protect and serve.

Illegal migration is more dangerous to America than Al Qaeda could ever be.

The Senate would have already passed amnesty and Bush would have signed it into law in 2006, had the Republican led House of Representatives not stopped it. When Republicans controlled the House, Amnesty was stopped dead in its tracks by The Border Protection, Anti-terrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005 (H.R. 4437) which demanded strict enforcement of border security without any form of amnesty attached. That bill was supported by 92% of House Republicans and opposed by 82% of House Democrats when it passed. It was also opposed by the Senate and Bush.

The Senate elite was pushing for legalizing illegal migration under Republican leadership and now with Democrat leadership, a Senate amnesty bill is a done deal! You can take it to the bank.

Clearly, Bush is prepared to sign any form of amnesty that makes it though both houses of congress to his desk. The Senate elite is working around the clock to find the right legal jargon to provide amnesty for future illegal Democrat voters as soon as possible. If Democrats can find a way to include voting rights for illegals by '08, they will.

Last time, House Republicans stopped it all. But this time, Democrats control the House as well as the Senate and together with pro-illegal migration Bush, there is nobody in Washington positioned to stop it from becoming a reality.

In 2008, we will be electing a new President and atop the list of things to consider MUST BE the candidate's position on illegal migration. Not the last minute temporarily adopted position, driven by the latest campaign polling data, but each candidate's real position on the subject of national sovereignty and security.

More importantly however, 33 US Senate seats will be up for re-election in 2008, 21 Republicans and 12 Democrats. Here's a chance for real grassroots pro-American patriotic bi-partisanship at the voter level.

Regardless of party affiliation, any of the 33 up for re-election in the Senate who have supported the notion of reforming American voters to accommodate illegal invaders, should NOT be re-elected to the Senate.

How many times have you correctly suggested that the Senate is working independent of the people and at odds with American interests and that it's time we clean house? Well, now is the time to begin that process. Based upon the current anti-American climate in the Senate, we have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Thirty-three of 100 would be a great start in that house cleaning effort and any senator who votes against the American voter in favor of the illegal invader, should be first on the list of many to leave power, no matter what party they claim.

Republicans have earned the heat they are taking on this issue. But how are Democrats getting a free pass when they are on record supporting illegal unrestrained migration 4 to 1 over Republicans? Nobody wants more illegal migration more than Democrats or their labor unions, both of which seek to profit by this new illegal special interest group.

Only the people can stop amnesty for illegal invaders and the legalization of illegal migration.

The Senate won't and neither will the House now. Bush is ready to sign any bill that makes it to his desk, so long as it includes the continuation of unregulated migration from the southern border.

Only the people can stop it now. Our silence is our consent. Our meek tolerant voice is ignored. What will it take to convince Washington, DC that we will not stand for such anti-American acts in our own federal government?

Or, is this just one more shovel full of garbage we will eat in the name of "tolerance" and ask for another please?
