It Is Time for a Birther Summit

Today, I sent a letter to South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham via gradegov.com.  My reason for choosing Graham is apparent in the letter itself.  Also, I chose gradegov.com because there is speculation that the members of Congress actually read what is posted there, unlike their regular emails, which are invariably intercepted by staffers, who respond with nothing more than form letters.  In this letter, I formally request that Senator Graham host a nationally necessary “Birther Summit.”

Bully pres in his bully pulpit

Rarely, if ever, has a sitting president displayed so many examples of so many qualities so unbecoming as were flagrantly displayed at his June 29 press conference.

The purpose of the event was to chide Republicans into voting to raise the debt-ceiling before the August 2nd deadline.  Obama said:

“The fact that we’re here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign—is a sign of leadership failure.  Leadership means the buck stops here.  Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren.  America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership.  Americans deserve better.  I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase America’s debt limit.”

Boring Bridges and Roads

In November 2010, Business Week, noting the $72 billion set aside in the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the “stimulus”, cited a 2009 report by the American Society of Civil Engineers on the state of the nation’s infrastructure of roads and bridges, solid waste and water treatment processing facilities, the aviation system, and energy needs.

Known as the ASCE “report card” and issued every four years, the Society gave America a grade of D regarding the nation’s crumbling and outdating infrastructure. The estimated cost of what needs to be spent through 2014 was estimated to be $2.2 trillion.

Since the beginning of the Global Financial Crisis, I have had several requests to do reviews of the financial strength of several banks. In the course of some of these assessments, I have found that the bank I was examining was in trouble, or heading for trouble and I recommended another.

Time For Congress to Lead on the Debt Ceiling

As we saw at yesterday’s press conference, President Obama is not going to lead on the debt ceiling issue. Nor is he going to compromise or play a mediating role. He is more interested in blaming others for his troubles, demagoguing other solutions and running for re-election.

Demagogue In Chief Slams Corp. Jets After Spending Stimulus Money on Them?

In his Wednesday presser on the state of the economy, President Obama several times attacked those evil rich folks flying about in corporate jets saying that the filthy rich could “afford” higher taxes. But while he spent so much time slamming corporate jets today, back in 2009 the president was pushing a stimulus bill that included tax breaks to corporate jets.

In February of 2009, the stimulus package that Obama pushed heavily as the only way to “save” the country included a provision that, as the Associated Press then reported, “sharply reduces the up front tax bill for companies who buy assets like business planes.”

Glenn’s Fox Finale Tonight…What’s Next?

You have enjoyed watching Glenn take on liberals, progressives and even radical leftists for the last two and a half years at 5pm on Fox News. From the corruption at ACORN to the Czars to Van Jones, Glenn exposed the left’s agenda and routinely flustered the White House in the process. Glenn’s Fox Finale tonight marks the end of a history making program, but far from the end, this also marks the beginning of something even bigger: GBTV.

Flotilla II: The Merchant Ships of Hamas Propaganda

The pro-Hamas flotilla of international ships planning to defy Israel’s lawful naval blockade of Gaza is getting underway, despite some delays caused by insurance and mechanical problems. Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman was spot on when he told Israel Radio that the so-called Freedom Flotilla II participants are nothing more than “terror activists, seeking to create provocation and looking for blood.”

Progressivism Masquerading as Education

A couple of weeks ago the results of a nationwide history test given at various grade levels were released by the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). To virtually no one’s surprise, only 20 percent of fourth graders, 17 percent of eighth graders and 12 percent of high school seniors demonstrated “proficiency” on the exam. Most Americans, if we’re being honest, are equally incompetent, if not more so, regarding basic economics. Throw in a lack of proficiency regarding the Constitution, and you get a trifecta of ignorance that ought to embarrass any First World nation. Yet if the Maryland public school system is any indication, we’re beyond embarrassment: “environmental literacy” will now be required in order to graduate high school.

ATTENTION: GOP – Do NOT buy the lies of the snake oil salesman in the White House!

A Katrina-like wave of pressure is going to be unleashed upon the GOP in an attempt to force it ‘compromise’ on the debt-ceiling issue.  We need the GOP levees to hold against the torrent of lies and misinformation that is sure to emanate from the White House and both Houses of Congress, assisted by the Bilderberger media.  ATTENTION: GOP – Do NOT buy the lies of the snake oil salesman in the White House!

EPA regulations — our economy’s golden goose?

Every dollar spent complying with federal regulations returned anywhere from $2.13 to $14.90 during the 2000s, according to a new report from the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB). EPA rules accounted for approximately 84% of this alleged regulatory largesse. Needless to say, the OMB report is total nonsense.

North Korea to Head U.N. Conference on Disarmament

This article by Anne Bayefsky appears today on The Weekly Standard.

On Tuesday, the United Nations again made itself an international laughing stock – except perhaps to the American taxpayers who continue to foot 22 percent of the bill – by appointing North Korea chair of the U.N. Conference on Disarmament. That would be the same North Korea that, according to an article this week by Senator John Kerry, head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has “twice tested nuclear weapons…is developing missiles to carry them…has built facilities capable of producing highly enriched uranium for more nuclear weapons” and has defied a U.N. arms embargo by exporting weapons and sensitive technologies to rogue regimes.

Citizen-led Campaign Advances No Exceptions Abortion Ban in Poland

WARSAW, Poland,—A bill removing exceptions from the nation’s abortion laws and providing total protection for preborn children from the moment of conception is set for a parliamentary vote this week in Poland. The legislation is the result of a citizen-led initiative drive in which sponsors were required to collect 100,000 signatures over the course of three months. The grassroots effort reportedly collected 600,000 signatures in just two weeks.

Currently, the Polish law allows for abortion in cases related to maternal health, if the pregnancy is the result of “illegal activity,” or if the preborn child is disabled. Polish abortionists have manipulated the exceptions to kill children with minor defects including cleft palates. Reports of fraud concerning fetal age are prevalent, and “illegal activity” is often misrepresented to include a wider range of criminal activity.
