When the government promises too much free medical care to too many people without making a significant investment in the medical infrastructure, its staff, and its professional delivery, innocent victims of a shortchanged, diluted, and inefficient service are likely to emerge. Cruz Fights Alone to Stop Senate from Funding Planned Parenthood and Iran Nuclear Deal

Last night Ted Cruz couldn't get his Republican Senate colleagues to back his proposed amendment to stop funding Planned Parenthood for one year and to prevent the Obama administration from using funds to implement the Iran nuclear deal until Congress can examine the additional agreements or "side deals" between the terrorist state and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

President Obama delivered his annual speech to the United Nations General Assembly on September 28th. He spoke mostly in generalities, with his usual platitudes extolling the benefits of multilateral cooperation, diplomacy and international law rooted in what he called “universal,” “self-evident” truths. He condemned “the belief that power is a zero-sum game; that might makes right; that strong states must impose their will on weaker ones; that the rights of individuals don’t matter; and that in a time of rapid change, order must be imposed by force.”

Life imitates satire: ACLU threatens school district because principal says ‘God bless you’

When I was an 18-year-old columnist for Western Michigan University's Western Herald, I wrote a column featuring a dream sequence in which a public official - I think it was supposed to be Jesse Helms - goes up to a random guy and blurts out "Merry Christmas." Immediately, the ACLU shows up and tells him he can't say that because it's unconstitutional for a government employee to endorse a particular religion.
