Marx and Mohammed in Manchester

There’s good news for Manchester. The city with the highest death rate and some of the worst drug and alcohol problems in England is getting a statue of Friedrich Engels.

It’s John McCain’s America, so Washington is thrilled and you’re screwed

I meant what I said last week about praying for John McCain to beat his cancer. I still do. I also mean this: John McCain is a traitor to everything he has fooled people for years into thinking he stands for. John McCain is not for free markets. John McCain is not for individual freedom. John McCain is not for solving problems.

A Better Deal…But, for Whom?

As parched Democrats struggle with the harsh reality of trying to survive in the hostile climate imposed by Donald J. Trump, the “brain trust” leaders of this woe-begotten, abandoned party have seized upon a new strategy for recapturing the adoration (and votes) of the deeply skeptical American electorate.

American Civil War Museum and Historic Tredegar

Nestled on the bank of the James River in Richmond, Virginia, near the American Civil War Museum, the Tredegar Iron Works began operating in 1837. The name Tredegar honored engineers Rhys Davies and his crew who were recruited from the Tredegar Mills in Wales. The proximity to railroads and canal boats made this location ideal. On this very hot and lazy Saturday afternoon, with temperatures upwards of 100 degrees Fahrenheit, locals were sunbathing on the beach nearby.

Restoring What It Means To Be An American

Even though I am black, I was raised on Superman's; truth, justice and the American way. I always believed Americans were the world's good guys. As a kid, I watched my mom cry over "I Love Lucy" TV stars Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz getting a divorce.

Consumers still love that new vehicle smell - and German quality smells the best

Ah, that new car smell! There's nothing quite like it. As a car nut, it's one of the nicest aromas I can think of, and as someone who reviews cars regularly it's a welcome odour I get to experience all the time. The only "new" smell that can match it is the spit up from a newborn family member - but, unlike a new family member, you don't have to hose yourself down after experiencing new car smell.

The Beltway culture created Anthony Scaramucci, and deserves him

The Beltway culture created Anthony Scaramucci, and deserves him If you didn’t cringe a little reading about Anthony Scaramucci’s phone call to Ryan Lizza of the New Yorker, I don’t know about you. Scaramucci’s ham-handed, foul-mouthed rant – all on the record to a journalist who was going to report every word of it – makes it harder than it already is to think there is any decorum left in the Trump White House.

What a FAILED ‘Skinny Repeal’ means to the public

Many of us were not big fans of "skinny repeal" to begin with, but at least it was a step in the right direction. Forty-Nine Republicans in the Senate reluctantly agreed with that line of thinking. Sadly, Senators Murkowski, Collins and McCain (consummate RINO's all) decided to protect Obama's 'signature legislation', along with forty-eight Democrats.
