Political Violence: Bullies always back down

Political Violence: Bullies always back down
I started this newsletter with a brief discourse on liberty because, hopefully, such an entry will provide context for the political violence we see every day. Antifa, confrontations in restaurants, and violent protests in cities around the country do not serve the political process well. And when people kill others, or try to kill others, that is no longer political confrontation—those are acts of terrorism.

Taxpayers Federation reacts to passage of Cap and Trade Cancelation Act

TORONTO, ON: The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) is thrilled that today the Ontario government passed Bill 4, The Cap and Trade Cancelation Act.

“Ending cap and trade means a tax savings of $7.2 billion for the people of Ontario, and we are ecstatic that the government is getting their hands out of taxpayers pockets,” said CTF Ontario Director, Christine Van Geyn.

Cap and trade came into effect on January of 2018, and used a complex system of carbon credits that Ontario businesses were required to buy and could trade between one another and with businesses in Quebec and California.

“Cap and trade was a tax on the necessities of life. It was a tax on heating your home in the winter, driving to work or to pick your kids up from school, and it was a tax that was going to keep going up. Meanwhile, it achieved nothing for the environment, and it was funnelling billions of dollars out of Ontario and into Quebec and California,” continued Van Geyn.

“Ending cap and trade is the right thing to do, and will make life in Ontario more affordable. At CTF, we are also excited that the Ford government will be fighting the federal government’s plans to impose a carbon tax onto Ontario voters who roundly rejected it.”

Other Than the Shooter, Who is Responsible for Synagogue Carnage?

Other Than the Shooter, Who is Responsible for Synagogue Carnage?
After the tragic Saturday shooting that claimed 11 lives at a Pittsburgh synagogue, there has been, lamentably, a predictable response. Seizing upon the incident, leftists are blaming President Trump and his supporters for creating a “climate of hate.” In response to this and the notion that it justifies suppression of speech, others will say that only one man is responsible, mass murderer Robert Bowers. Yet there’s far more to this matter than either position indicates.

Let’s start by acknowledging that words can influence others. Sayings such as “The pen is mightier than the sword” attest to this, and it’s why we offer opinion and render commentary: we’re hoping to influence people, to spur them on to proper remedial action.

Trump’s one-state solution: A Jordan enclave in the West Bank

Trump's one-state solution: A Jordan enclave in the West Bank
United States Secretary of Defense - James Mattis—remarkably failed to mention “the two-state solution”, or even the “Palestinian-Israeli conflict” in his keynote address—“US Policy in a Changing Middle East”—delivered at the International Institute for Strategic Affairs 14th Regional Security Summit in Manama, Bahrein held between 26-28 October.

Mattis’ pointed omissions can only fuel speculation that a “one-state solution”—possibly involving the creation of a Jordan enclave in the West Bank - could now be uppermost in President Trump’s thinking.

Wind Farms Could Cause Surface Warming

Wind Farms Could Cause Surface Warming
A Harvard University study suggests that, under certain conditions and in the near term, increased wind power could mean more climate warming than would be caused by the use of fossil fuels to generate electricity. The study found that if wind power supplied all U.S. electricity demands, it would warm the surface of the continental United States by 0.24 ˚C, which could significantly exceed the reduction in U.S. warming achieved by decarbonizing the nation’s electricity sector this century—around 0.1 ˚C. The warming effect depends strongly on local weather conditions, as well as the type and placement of the wind turbines.

Ultrasound breakthrough allows doctors to examine patients remotely

Ultrasound breakthrough allows doctors to examine patients remotely
The idea of ultrasound technology is to give radiologists a dynamic look at moving parts inside the body. However, most ultrasound scans today are done by technicians – so the radiologist is reviewing recorded images or video clips instead of seeing the full real-time picture.

As a result, the doctor may miss something important or send the patient for a repeat ultrasound or a more costly and invasive diagnostic imaging.

SAF CONDEMNS MEDIA BIAS ON GUNS AS ELECTION LOOMS

SAF CONDEMNS MEDIA BIAS ON GUNS AS ELECTION LOOMS
BELLEVUE, WA – The Second Amendment Foundation today condemned what it considers blatant media bias against firearms, which invariably seems to show up in headlines and news reports just prior to an election.

“We’ve got an important midterm election next week,” noted SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb, “and gun control versus gun rights is an important shadow issue because Democrats have already made it clear that guns will be on the agenda if they take control of the Congress.”
He was not surprised that the Associated Press circulated an article headlined “Guns send over 8,000 US kids to ER each year, analysis says.” Gottlieb said it is “no coincidence” that such stories appear before an election.

If the Synagogue Shooter Were Muslim, the Media Would Be Defending Him

If the Synagogue Shooter Were Muslim, the Media Would Be Defending Him
Two types of people plot attacks against Jewish synagogues and community centers: Nazis and Muslims.

In 1999, Buford O. Furrow, a white supremacist, opened fire at a Jewish Community Center in the Los Angeles area. He wounded three little boys, their teenage female counselor and an elderly female receptionist. He told the FBI that he wanted this to be “a wake-up call to America to kill Jews.”

While Furrow was carrying out his attack, President William Jefferson Clinton was in the White House.

The foundation of “America’s Law Enforcement Agency”

Richland County Sheriff’s Dept
Countless law enforcement agencies have achieved fame and notoriety over the previous 100 years. High profile criminal cases have led to the renown of many, as have the sheer number of police departments, sheriff’s offices and other law enforcement agencies at every level – locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. Among some of the best-known are NYPD, LAPD, the FBI, the U.S. Marshal’s office, even Scotland Yard. There are many others.

“Resistance” Leader Obama A Joke

Resistance Leader Obama A Joke
Yo, Desperado Democrats, your “Resistance” leader Barack Obama is a joke.

Darting in and out of the public spotlight like the Artful Dodger he’s always been, Obama’s been tossing the odd Midterm stink bomb at his Republican enemies from the safe distance of his multi-million dollar D.C. bunker.

Notice how he never quite comes out into plain view where his comments and behavior can be more closely analyzed?

Christ came to fulfill the Old Covenant.  He paid the price for Adam’s sin and made a way back into fellowship with God.  Sin was the problem and Jesus is the answer.

When he was offered up by the High Priest as a sinless sacrifice He fulfilled all that had ever been required in the Old Covenant.

Canadian to the Rescue in California

Daniel Marsh
On October 24 in Woodland, California, judge Samuel McAdam ordered convicted double murderer Daniel Marsh back to prison to serve his original sentence. Canadian psychopathy expert Matthew Logan helped send him back, but it was a close call and the killer had everything going for him.

Marsh was only 15 in 2013 when he murdered Oliver Northup, 87, and his wife Claudia Maupin in their home in Davis, near Sacramento. A police report said the victims were killed with “exceptional depravity.” After his arrest, Marsh told police that torturing, killing and mutilating the victims was “pure happiness.”

A Brief History of Leftist Political Violence in 1 Year

Farzad Fazeli, James Hodgkinson, Steve St. Felix
On September 9, Rudy Peters, the Republican running for Congress in the 15th District in California, was attacked by a knife-wielding man shouting, “XXXX Trump”.

The attacker, Farzad Fazeli, an Iranian Clinton supporter, had previously posted, “Don Trump won’t clean his own house, so he’s too dirty to know right from wrong. Impeach/incarcerate him before more children die. P.S. complacency is worse than being the shooter.”

The midterms in Michigan. A choice between safety or sanctuary

The midterms in Michigan. A choice between safety or sanctuary.
Cities and counties that have had a large influx of illegal aliens, also see an increase in crimes ranging from identity theft to human trafficking.  The FBI, for instance, has rated San Diego, California, which borders Mexico, as one of the 13 highest child sex trafficking areas in the nation. A joint study conducted by the University of San Diego found that “virtually no community in San Diego remains untouched by sex trafficking.”  Politicians often like to say they are tough on crime, but when it comes to illegal immigration, they often turn a blind eye to the real effects it has on local communities.

Meagan Whitmer and Galvin Gilchrist, Democratic candidates for Governor and Lt. Governor in Michigan, refuse to see illegal immigration as a threat to counties, cities and neighborhoods.  They have turned a blind eye to the problem of open borders by advocating sanctuary cities, providing driver’s licenses to illegal aliens, and calling for the elimination of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE).

The 2018 election: A Forum on the Bill of Rights

The 2018 election: A Forum on the Bill of Rights
The massacre of eleven innocent members of the Tree of Life Synagogue this past weekend evokes fear and sympathy from many Americans, as well as empathy from many throughout the world. Yet, as more and more information about the alleged perpetrator of such a heinous act of violence begins to surface, it becomes increasingly clear that many major media outlets, as well as some major political figures want to use the horrific tragedy as a platform for political posturing. The shooter, who murdered so many faith-filled Jewish people, must have been mentally deranged, especially in destroying so many people’s lives. Yet, there are some politically motivated people who want to link the shooter to President Donald Trump.
