In reflection upon the recall effort to give Gavin Newsom a non-essential job, it is no longer an easy option to vote authoritarians out of office. It is truly amazing that Americans even have the option to “throw the bums out,” either in an election or a recall effort like the one that had failed in California in 2021. This is a form of Democracy in action—when the elected official has not fulfilled whatever campaign promises that were made, or if there is demonstrable incompetence, or evidence of criminal activities of political figures, “reverse elections” can spontaneously erupt.

Leave it to the left to come up with a taxpayer-funded election integrity system that is instead a Trojan Horse for election fraud.  ERIC is an organization formed in 2014 to clean voter rolls. ERIC stands for Election Registration Information Center and describes itself as a "voter registration list maintenance entity." Instead, ERIC has become a left-wing voter registration drive, using an incredibly complete list of potential voters from member states—at the taxpayers' expense. In other words, ERIC member states' residents are paying for corrupting their own election integrity. It should be noted that ERIC is alleged to have been funded by George Soros.

Subaru Forester Premier a very nice vehicle – but it isn’t without its annoyances

The Subaru Forester was arguably the company's first SUV, though it may have seemed more like a tall wagon than a Sport Ute. Since then, the company has expanded its SUV offerings, but the Forester is still around and there are still a lot of things to like about it. It's still my favourite Subaru, in fact, one which I would have put one on my short list back in the day had I been in the market. And the stuff that made that Forester so compelling then are still there: symmetrical all-wheel drive, good ground clearance, plenty of storage/hauling space and good driving dynamics.
