Omar Mateen had a likely purpose in mind when he brought weapons into Pulse, the largest gay bar in Orlando, FL, a purpose that backfired with a vengeance.
Reportedly exclaiming "Allahu Akbar" and thinking that he was spreading hate toward a lifestyle that he reviled as deviant (new information indicates personal struggles with it), the Islamist terrorist (claimed by ISIS news outlets) managed to bring about the opposite reaction from the general public. No matter what individual Americans' faith doctrines may be, the one thing they are not, is condoning of murder.
