Texas GOP defied the Biden Administration and challenged their own governor by openly declaring there is an invasion on the southern border. Identifying the crush of illegal immigrants pouring across the U.S.-Mexico boundary as "Biden's border crisis," Governor Abbott has forestalled the inevitable by sidestepping the term "invasion" and instituting half-hearted measures to counter the human flood. Abbott's filling busses and sending them to Washington, D.C. and New York has caused outcry from those mayors about the strain the new arrivals are placing on civic services. Not everyone has been supportive of the Texas governor's tactic, but transporting immigrants to municipalities like D.C. and NYC that have adopted sanctuary city designations should be expected and welcomed.
