Canada’s new Defence Minister on ISIS—nothing to see here folks
Justin Trudeau and his cabinet were sworn in on November 4 and one of the most interesting appointments was of Harjit Sajjan as Minister of Defence.
Sajjan, a 45-year-old Sikh born in India and who came to Canada when he was five, served on the Vancouver Police Department for 11 years, rising to the rank of detective.
According to his official biography, Sajjan was a reservist who was deployed to Bosnia once and Afghanistan three times. Achieving the rank of major, he was awarded several medals including the US Army Commendation Medal. No doubt, he was an excellent soldier.
