I just finished watching the report broadcasted by CBC: Malaise dans le Chinatown/Enquete and what an appalling report that was! I almost couldn't believe my eyes that our very own CBC, which is supposed to be a decent national broadcaster, would produce something as derogatory as this. Let me explain--the eerie music, weird camera angles, except for Mr. Crescent Chau of La Presse Chinoise and all his friends, all the other characters in the program were portrayed as secretive and strange, and the most demonized group, of course, was Falun Gong. What I can't understand is how could CBC manipulate such a report and present this as factual information to its Canadian audience. After all the Falun Gong is a well known and well-respected spiritual group across the world, except for China where its followers are tortured and even killed for their belief.
