Congress Is Broken--Restore Regular Order

I was first elected to the US House of Representatives in a special election in September 1977. Were I still in Congress today, I would be senior to every other sitting member of the House. 46 years as a member and as a close observer of the institution leads me to a simple conclusion. Congress is broken. The vision of James Madison enshrined in the U.S. Constitution, the most important document in the world second only to the Bible, has been blurred, distorted, and almost forgotten. Partisanship has eclipsed any thought of working together in the interest of the nation. Party loyalty is sacrosanct and any deviation in either Party is frowned upon and sanctioned. Gone are the days when members of Congress could reach across the aisle to produce legislation founded on common sense rather than sheer Party dogma. “Negotiation” does not equate with “capitulation.” But insistence on “my way or the highway” often yields what we have seen too often in recent years: nothing … or much worse.

Lovely article, I do not wish to be rude but it seems you are not aware of what is happening in so many countries around the world right now?
That is the way the public used to view our politicians working together different views but looking for the one with the best interest and care for the future of our countries. Here in Canada since the sixties it has been one fake sick act full of lies and theft of the population and it was because we had our first real communist leader and he put on a big show for the country running around with stars like Barbara Streisand and many others saying even back then that he would legalize Pot and literately and he did outright gave the people his middle finger while putting the country in bigger debt almost had the country divided into three parts, calling for the War measures act like his even more radical son is doing now to our country only way worse. Were these people really even elected, were and are Canadians really that stupid to support these spoiled rich spoiled slush fund thieves, paid puppets. The show goes on pretending but all the uniparties are run by these globalist, huge international corporations who run the UN's WEF, these paid puppet show politicians do not work for the country they were PUT in place to collapse. These highly paid puppet thieves are put there to put on "paid with our taxes and debt" distracting dog and pony shows while disappearing our wealth and countries.
I apologize and I pray I am wrong and I really wish the fraudulent people and elections were fixed and these lying sick puppets were all exposed and never allowed to enter our countries again.
