Fran Drummond opens an enormous scrapbook, points at a yellowed newspaper clipping from 1965 and recalls that back then she planned to run Twin Falls Chalet for just a couple more years.
She laughs at the thought now. “That place grabbed a hold of me and never let me go,” she says of the hike-in, hike-out backcountry lodge that she ran since 1962 until Labour Day 2019, the last day that Parks Canada allowed her to run the iconic chalet.-- More...
