COVID-19 deaths fall worldwide, though cases are increasing, says WHO
New coronavirus deaths reported worldwide plunged by 17% last week, while COVID-19 cases rose, reversing a trend of declining infections, the World Health Organization said Tuesday.
In its weekly report on the COVID-19 pandemic, the WHO said there were more than 11 million new cases across the six regions tracked by the U.N. health agency, about an 8% increase over the last week. There were 43,000 new deaths reported, which is fewer than the week before and continues a trend of declining deaths from the virus.-- More...
