Finally, crops are receiving recognition in astronomical proportion.. Well, asteroid level at least. The dwarf planet Ceres is supported by the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. Discovered and named by the Italian astronomer Giuseppe Piazzi in 1801 it was visited by NASA’s Dawn spacecraft last year.
