The defining trait shared by virtually all left-wing politicians is a preternatural ability to divide the electorate into subsets. The divide people by race, religion, gender, and age, then play those groups against each other with spectacular efficacy. If it wasn't so evil, you'd really have to admire it. They do it so well that it's allowed them to take certain blocs for granted - for decades.
