Like it or not, anything less than unconditional surrender in Iran is simply kicking the can down the road. In my humble opinion, the Japanese model could very well work in Iran and Gaza;

World War II ended with eventual unconditional surrender by all three axis powers. For this discussion the most important of those was the unconditional surrender of Japan. The Japanese war like culture of the 1930s and 1940s was very much like the convert or die culture of modern-day radical Islam. The self-proclaimed racial superiority of the pre–WWII Japanese warlords is much like the self-proclaimed religious superiority of the radical Islamists of today.
