Freedom of speech in Canada is over

- C-9 (anti-hate law)

Three bills that, together, will annihilate our fundamental rights.

- C-9 (Anti-Hate Law):

Dramatically expands the definition of hate (hate/defamation), eliminates long-standing religious defenses for good-faith expression, and facilitates criminal prosecutions without the Attorney General's consent. Criticizing, preaching, or even displaying certain symbols could now land you with criminal charges. Gone are the protections for religious freedom of expression and sensitive public debates.

- C-22 (legal access):

Forces Internet service providers to retain metadata for one year, eases police and CSIS access to your data, and allows the minister to impose access fees (backdoors in disguise). Mass surveillance of your digital communications without a warrant. Your online life becomes completely transparent to the state.
