Under Canadian law you are innocent until proven guilty. But Bill C-22 would force every Electronic Service Provider in Canada — Bell, Rogers, Apple, Samsung, Google, your smart TV, even your Roomba — to record and store your metadata for up to one year without a warrant.

Not because you did anything wrong. Just in case they need it one day.

When the government collects data on every single Canadian regardless of innocence — you are no longer innocent until proven guilty. You are guilty by default.
